Today Is Friday, August 23, 2024: This Is What Happened.

My search for wiki art is Claudia, the name I use for my oldest Granddaughter. Today's artwork is called "Cold Claudia" and was done by Neil Wellwelliver. There's quite a bit of sadness in his life. We all have some sadness in our lives.

Murphy and I went to the senior center today for lunch. But before we went to the senior center, I managed to take a short walk, toss some clothes in the dryer, and make the bed. I'm sure I did other things, but they did not come to mind. Before the senior center, we went to the hardware store and got some insulation to put on the doors. We also picked up the book and went through the inter-loan library.

Last hike hubby and I went on a hike. I did manage to get a sky picture.

I'm starting a set that mostly has dog A.T.C.

I'm linking to SKY WATCH and FRIDAY FACE OFF.

Editor note the last photo wasn't to be. Opps!

Today Is Monday, July 29, 2024: This Is What Happened.

Hubby and I went for a drive up Ball Creek. Last summer, there was a wildfire. Ball Creek is on the steep side, and there is a lot of undergrowth and trees that are too close. The area needs to be thinned out so light can come in and plants can get some light source. Notice more grass coming up. Plus, there was a landslide.

Haven't been watching the Olympic games. My dad and I used to watch them. The part of the Olympics we see is the tier athletic. Never seen any athletes from Algeria, Argentina, Afghanistan, and there more.

Here is a list of 19 games they have played in the Olympic Games in the past. I would like to see polo and art, and tied for third place would be kite flying or tug-of-war

I tried to do one of those online word clouds. Well, I'm having trouble with the download part. I am almost done reading Frida Kahlo's song herself. It is my second time reading it. I will take it back to our library. I got it through the inter-library program. I would love to buy it, but it is out of my price range. I'm sure I will get a word cloud out.

Today Is Thursday, July 25, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I posted some of my artist trading cards on the ATC PAGE. I'm Going to share three I did up and am willing to trade.

This morning, it was a little smokey. I'm not sure where the smoke came from, but this is wildfire season.

I went to see my therapist this afternoon. She is leaving the clinic I used for my well-being. It goes through a lot of employees. Usually, or it seems like once their contract is up, they move on. Rarely do any of them renew. She recommends one. I will call next week to find out which insurance he takes. I don't want some heavy-duty religious person. Confession time: I have some biases when it comes to certain religions.

Today Is Saturday, March 9, 2024: This Is What Happened.

It's good to take a little break here and there. I'll take a three-day break in April. I'm still working on the back bedroom. I still ask myself, how did I get so much stuff?

I just finished reading A HOLE IN THE ICE. My review is "A good story, with a great ending." Here are a few random sentences. She pays me to keep quiet, and I carry her trunk up and help her tie the trunks up and tie them to ropes.

Our local library is offering an "Adult Reading Program." If you read 10 books out of 12, you will earn a nerd reading T-shirt.

Here is the list.

  1. Digital: An E-book or Audiobook

  2. May We Suggest A book with an MWS sticker.

  3. New Author: A book from an author you have never read.

  4. Young Author: A book from our YA section downstairs.

  5. A Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author.

  6. Read Before You Watch: A book turned into a movie.

  7. Judge a Book by its Cover: a book with a cover you like.

  8. Classic For a Reason

  9. Recommended by a Friend (or librarian)

  10. Your Favorite Genre: any book from your favorite genre.

  11. True Story: A book based on an actual event of a person.

  12. Free Choice: read whatever you want.

I'm unsure what they mean by the number 8, Classic For a Reason.

I saw three robins in our backyard the other day. I haven't walked or exercised in the last few days. I had my physical, and everything was good. I still need to have a mammogram and a mold removed from my back. Everything else looks good.

My son Sawyer had his appendicitis.

I'm still doing art. On the first and third Wednesdays of the month, I take my watercolor classes. On Saturday, I go to Art Insight. But I decided to show my alien art cards today

Today Is Sunday January 28, 2024: This Is What Happened.

We're having a heat wave; it got up to over 40 (4.4) and was overcast. Nothing from the Royal College of Art today. I wanted to share three cards I did up during the week. Actually, I did 8 of them, and I will try to trade them.

Both hubby and I are sore today. But he claims he scorers them me. The only thing I know is that I have hurt more than I do now.

Did general housework.

We bought a pork hock not long ago and are using it in stew. Plus, we got some small loaves of pretzel buns in the senior center grocery rescue. So for dinner, we will be eating stew and buns.

Today Is Saturday, January 6, 2024: This Is What Happened:

This morning, I woke up to a skiff of snow. It has yet to get over half an inch or so. I went to town this morning, and it was raining.

My home elevation is about 2,500, and the town of Bonners Ferry is about 1,800 feet.

I went to Art Insight at Wellness Teea Bar before I got my creative fix. I tried white tea for the first time. I have trouble with green tea and some black tea. It makes my tummy twist and rumbles about.

At art insight social. Today’s theme we built was “seeds,” planting seeds that would help one grow into personal growth and progress in life.

I didn’t get my page entirely done. But I will post it this upcoming week before next Saturday, January 13.

I put two creative projects in my bullet journal that I want to finish or work on.

  1. Sketch or draw a picture from the last book I read, The Indian Killer

  2. Finishing up the page, I started about fantasy.

Had to look up how to draw a ¾ view of a human. It looks like I will need to practice.

I planned to drive up North and stop at the grand opening at the new gas station, STURGEON STATION. And enter in the drawing. One thing that entered my mind was an excellent place to catch COVID-19. Or some nasty virus. No, thank you.! And go into Dollar General and get some AA batteries. They have the best price on batteries.

Then, I would stop at our local library and see if my book from the inter-library program was in.

Stopped in at the store and got a few items. And came home.

The other thing I learned was about art collaborative journals. I will leave a LINK HERE and a VIDEO.

EDITOR NOTE: The video is about half an hour long.

Today Is Friday, December 1, 2023: This Is What Happened.

It feels like Saturday. Over the date line, it’s Saturday. Almost 2024! This morning, I measured snow, 1½ inches, or those who use metric, 3.81. Plus, the trash is in the garage/shed and placed in cans. We have one more can to fill and then off to the dump. It will be sometime this month.

Did a load of laundry and some general pick-up.

My health insurance is taken care of. I didn’t like what I heard. It’s what it is. Well, our income is too low to apply for YOUR HEALTH IDAHO. So it is on to MEDICAID. Which I’m not keen on. I am not sure if all state Medicaid is like Idaho. But Idaho can attach to any estate you might have once we are gone. Generally speaking, Idaho squaw on any federal program. The state didn’t want to participate in the “Affordable Care Act,” so they were forced to develop something. Plus, their site for your health in Idaho isn’t user-friendly. I’m so glad I only have 1 year, 2 months, and 11 days. I will be on Medicare.

Murphy and I went to the senior center for lunch. They serve turkey and rice soup. It was delicious. Plus applesauce and a green salad. I had blue cheese dressing on mine.

Tuesday and Wednesday, they have a food giveaway. A little later on, I will have an orange I got from them.

Don’t recall when I started this mosaic page in my art journal. I am pleased with how it came out. For some reason, I like this photo of my grand Uncle, Archie. He is my grandfather’s brother on my mom’s side. I never meant him. He died before I was born. Plus, the only I know about him is that he farmed, had a family, and served in WWI as a machinist in the Navy.

Got the first part of my Christmas decoration up. I’m going to hang the Christmas cards on the lighted wire.

Today, I’m taking part in FACE OFF and ART FOR FUN FRIDAY

Today Is Monday, August 21, 2023: This Is What Happened.

I seem like I can't wake up. No significant things were done today. Still smoky, although less of it. I need to get outside, mainly for my mental health. So I put on my N95 mask and walked around the house several times.
Rain should come in the late afternoon.

Coffee is on, and stay safe.

Thursday, August 17, 2023

Today Is Thursday, August 17, 2023: This Is What Happened.

This week, I have been taking it at a slower pace. That doesn't mean that I don't do anything. I decreased our plastic bags that came from our stores. As I worked on the bags. How many states and countries use plastic bags. There are 8, 9, or 10 states that have banned plastic bags. I thought they would have been more. I keep telling myself to take non-plastic bags into the store. Haven't got into the habit of it.

I grumble about all the plastics companies use. I look at three companies that don't use plastic containers or wraps. Took a little time to look up food companies that are more or less environmentally friendly. Here are three companies...EARTH COSUSTAINABLE FOOD BRAND, and PENJI.

Only 4 of the brands I know we have in our local stores.

So the food bank, library, and senior center will get plastic bags. We have too many of them.

We change the sheets on our bed.

My lunch, left over salmon, cottage cheese with blueberries, and grain bread toasted.

Sure is smokey.

Since it is smokey. We haven't been outdoors. I went into the basement a few times and got on the treadmill. I find treadmills boring. Hopefully, the smoke will dissipate. We may have some wind coming out of the southwest tomorrow (August 18, 2023). It could move the smoke out. But on the other hand, it could make it harder for the firefighter to fight the fires. Or move current smoke out and new smoke in.

There is a slight chance of rain on Monday (August 21, 2023) for the rest of the month. Usually, it doesn't rain study at all in August.

Think it was this month. I was shopping and overheard a conversation. I know it consists of one male. Dark hair and beard. I don't know who the second person in the discussion was. Never took mental notes.

But what I heard, I found disturbing. This is what I heard. "We need to get rid of the liberals in this area."

Not saying it isn't possible. Or it could be possible. I haven't heard someone leaning to the left or getting rid of someone with different thoughts.

Then I worked on updating our wall calendar. The items in red ink are prioritized things. The ones in green ink are not prioritized. Most of the stuff on the calendar is in green. Worked some on the bullet journal.

Today Is Friday. July 21, 2023: This Is What Happened.

Enough heat outside. This morning hubby and I dug up a couple of fence posts. That was around the garden.

The fence was falling down, and the post needed replacing.

Personal in my thoughts, our garden needed to decrease in size. There is nothing better than fresh veggies out of the garden.

Gardening on a smaller scale would be much better.

I have been working on some creative things, like embroidery. The hardest thing for me is separating the floss. Then I have been working on my art journal; one of the things I have been working on is flowers, coreopsis. Or called tick-seed, which I had never heard of tick-seed. I'm not sure if I want to add leaves or any type of greens. Or how I want to do it. Or the technique to do them.

I'm taking part in FRIDAY FACE OFF and 3291. One day, my anxiety was almost full throttle. Two terms my mother's side described anxiety as "Being On Pins and Needles" or "High Strung" Anxiety tends to run on her mother 'Olive" side. All of the grandkids were warned not to be wild around about Grandma's nerves.

Also taking part in SKYWATCH The first cutting of hay is done.

Monday July 17, 2023: This Is What Happened:

In about 45 minutes, about 11:15, our power will be cut out for about 2 hours. So in about 15 minutes, I'm going shut things down. Right now, it is 10:45 in the morning.

I'm back typing my blog post, and our time is 6 PM.

Yesterday we went to Spokane and saw my chicks and their families. Plus, all four grandchildren.

I have been trying to get a family photo for some time. I like to get one every five years. I will start bothering them until January of 2027. And hope someone we all get together before 2030.

We went to an aquarium in Northtown Mall in Spokane. I saw the one in Seattle and San Francisco. The girls enjoy talking to the mermaid. Plus, they had a few other animals, birds, and reptiles.

It sure has been hot here. Usually, the lead stories are about weather or climate. For the last 24 hours, it has been windy. And it is super dry, which isn't good. It could be hard on firefighters who are out fighting wildfires. At this point, there are no wildfires in my area.

Before I went to work, Murphy and I put a fence around a maple clump of trees. So the deer won't eat them. There is plenty to eat for the animals.

This week sometime, I will post a family photo.

Coffee is on, and stay safe.

Today Is Saturday, July 15, 2023: This Is What Happened.

We now have smoke in our area, although not heavy. Plus heat.

Since retirement is on the horizon, it means I have more time to blog. But I have other things I want and need to do.

Question time...When it comes to posting blogs, replying, and visiting them. Please tell me how you handle this.

I post my daily happenings or if a something I want to talk about. Sometimes if I have time, I reply to comments. And I am visiting blogs. On my days off, I usually visit all my regulars. And then I usually stop by somewhere around 10.

I picked a few raspberries. Walk around the house a few times and worked on the quilt block that I had been embroidery. Toss some wet clothes in the dryer and put them away.

The DVDs I watched today were THE PEOPLE SPEAK

Today Is Saturday, June 17, 2023: This Is What Happened.

Last night I went to a dance performance at our local high school. My friend Lolita's grandchildren, were in the show. It was a lovely show.

Since I'm on the subject of Lolita. She lives in a Senior trailer park. She owns her trailer but leases the spot her trailer is set apart.

One day she received a letter with no letter heading saying she couldn't have guests only for 14 days, in one year period. To find out her lease wasn't written up that way. She asked around, and only one other person received such a letter.

So her daughter Lisa, got a lawyer to discuss the issue. It is totally illegal what they're doing. I know we all have opposition. But Lolita, like me, has a limited income. Her social security is under 1,000 a month. I'm worried the landlord won't let up on her. Once her daughter leaves.

Part I thought was amazing was that the landlord had the nerve to say they would charge her hotel rate for her to have guests.

Also yesterday. I organized my art supplies, but they are still not coming out as it needs to be. But if I had an equal size suitcase. The other thing I told myself is if I can't fit my creative supplies in two suitcases. I need to make the choice of getting rid of some items.

Today Murphy and I put on a door sweep on our living room door. Hopefully, it helps keep the cold out in the winter. And then, in the summer keeps the heat out.

Then, this morning, I walked to the fourth power line pole.

Finish watching Where Angels Fear to Tread. It is not a horrible movie. But it is a little below adventurer. I would be disappointed if I spent money on it. Well, I guess I did. The gas to the library.

Today Musician is from North Dakota. I'm clueless about this band called GHOST BATH. Sharing a creative menu. My eyes are open to a different genre. Let's take listen to BREATHE TO THE SHADE TREE.

Friday, May 26, 2023

Today Is Friday May 26, 2023: This Is What Happened:

Last Saturday. I notice some great clouds to take photos in the southeast from my home in North Idaho. But I took photos of clouds every one and a half hours. I was watching and enjoying how the clouds changed.

I'm pleased; I finished my entire June in my bullet journal.

One thing we talked about in my last therapy. Did I need help completing the task? I know I've talked bout this before my mom's famous statement." You did a good job but ____________________-.

Yes, the blank line was what was wrong. So I learned to say, "I didn't have enough time and made sure I was looking busy, doing something.

But even in school. I had trouble staying on task. Let's say in my math class. I could be working on English.

So my therapist thinks I have ADHD. I'm a restless person; that is the main focus of my ADHD. She gave me some pointers. Medication isn't necessary now, and I doubt it will be. It never causes me any major, either.

I couldn't figure out how to unblock Regis. So I wrote his number down. I might have trouble. It was my first time and person. I blocked. If he needles me again, I will block him for 48 hours next time. And the third time I saw it will be 96 hours. I'm not particularly eager to do things like this. But it needed to be done.

Murphy and I went to the senior center for lunch. The main dish was tuna and noodle casserole, and it was delicious. Then for dessert, it was cheesecake with blueberries on top. I'm full.

I finish up my art journal page. About banning books. It is only a minor thing I would do differently. First, I wouldn't use paper. I wanted to get the effect of natural rock. Second, I would have made a mental ramp with graffiti writing of books—both ban and not ban.

I'm linking my post to SKY WATCH and ART FOR FRIDAY.

Coffee is on, and stay safe.

Today Is Saturday, September 6, 2025: This Is What Happen.

Don't recall last time I shared any sort of stats, so I thought of sharing 9 stats from last month. I try to get the weather ...
