Enough heat outside. This morning hubby and I dug up a couple of fence posts. That was around the garden.
The fence was falling down, and the post needed replacing.
Personal in my thoughts, our garden needed to decrease in size. There is nothing better than fresh veggies out of the garden.
Gardening on a smaller scale would be much better.
I have been working on some creative things, like embroidery. The hardest thing for me is separating the floss. Then I have been working on my art journal; one of the things I have been working on is flowers, coreopsis. Or called tick-seed, which I had never heard of tick-seed. I'm not sure if I want to add leaves or any type of greens. Or how I want to do it. Or the technique to do them.
I'm taking part in FRIDAY FACE OFF and 3291. One day, my anxiety was almost full throttle. Two terms my mother's side described anxiety as "Being On Pins and Needles" or "High Strung" Anxiety tends to run on her mother 'Olive" side. All of the grandkids were warned not to be wild around about Grandma's nerves.
Also taking part in SKYWATCH The first cutting of hay is done.
Coffee is on, and stay safe.
Well, I don't know about your nerves and I hope they have calmed down but this face is fantasitc. I love it so much. The photo is a peacful place. Thank you for joining FFO and have a nice day.
ReplyDeleteIn his early 70's now, my husband has downsized his garden, and if you do, I hope that works for you. Enjoyed seeing your mountains, and I know that heat is coming our way next week. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDelete...my garden is too big and I have to get help to take care of it.
ReplyDeleteWe grow our herbs in small containers and keep them in a nice sunny window, they do good there. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteBig gardens are difficult to manage the older we get. Love the view of the sky and mountains.
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of work in a large garden. Mine is small but it produces a lot this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI worked in the garden this morning, and mine is smaller this year. Mostly because of rain and a woodchuck. I just didn't have time to finish putting much in. Oh well. You are right. Better to concentrate on a few things I think. have a super weekend. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteVery nice photo of the sky
ReplyDelete"High strung" was how anxiety was described when I was a kid too.
ReplyDeleteI did not know Coreopsis was tick-seed, I have some in a pot and a neighbour has plenty in her garden. I love the bright yellow flowers.
ReplyDeleteGood face
ReplyDeleteYour doodled faced id fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to AFFF.
Much💜love
This is a wonderful drawing. I have heard of being on pins and needles, but I guess I was lucky and it doesn't affect me the way it does you. I like your sky photo with the hay bales, too.
ReplyDeleteAm I happy that I have no garden (yard) anymore !
ReplyDelete“On pins and needles” is a good expression. I heard it more in my youth, from my mother, than I do now.
ReplyDeleteAs we get older, our gardens get smaller and more intense, like our love.
ReplyDeleteMy DIL is the gardener in our family. I grow only flowers around the house. Anxiety is a very draining state and I don't tend to go there, but my daughter is on medication for it. I hope you have ways of winding yourself down. Love your face ... very clever and the sky is beautiful. I'm not sure you should be out digging up posts in this awful heat. Stay safe and wear sun block :)

Cute face. I wish it was warmer here, it feels more like a winter day today.
ReplyDeleteI love your sky shot. I have the opposite of anxiety. I have this insane belief that everything will be okay and it generally is. My "condition" drives other people crazy.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing hay being cut and then put away into sheds. It’s like money in the bank. When winter comes you have plenty of feed for your stock and that’s a great feeling.
ReplyDeleteHaving trouble leaving a comment, they keep disappearing!
ReplyDeleteI do like your 'Skywatch' photograph.
All the best Jan
I understand anxiety. It's hard to deal with. Yes, a smaller garden is probably the way to go. Easier to maintain.
ReplyDeleteAnd now how do you feel after the Friday Face Off?
ReplyDeleteI'm way too impatient and not at all skilled for embroidery. I hated it in school and that has never changed. But I love coreopsis, even though thet somehow don't do that well in my garden.
ReplyDeleteso interesting the face is. I bet it was quite hard to do. Nice!
