Bird Brain

Later in the afternoon, week ago Friday Hubby and I decided to go to our local museum to see one of the shows and exhibit brought in by the Smithsonian
The theme “The Way We Worked” sure though me off. I thought it would be on the little creatures called birds like the ones that builds nest. Statement time...birds do work...right.
We have a bluebird boxes and one the boxes there is a pair of birds nesting. Not sure what they are but it been interesting watching them.

Confession time...I even thought it might even been on history of bird houses

Even before we went to the event we had found out it wasn't on chirping little birds. I figure I should stay and never know what benefit one would gain from this.

Actual it was from a museum which isn't far from here, past Garfield bay in the Sandpoint area. Call (Bird Museum) after there slide show and lecture. I want to do and see the museum. Actual the area is quite pretty.
Even I want to see more from "the way we worked"  Plus the Idaho humanities played a roll in it.

Editor Note for some reason I can't get link to the bird museum in sandpoint but here is there address for there web site www.birdaviationmuseum.com

Last weekend Hubby and I planted more of the veggie garden. Actual it pretty much in. We planted 25 tomatoes 3 varieties of them, 12 artichokes, lots of onions, 2 types of basil and one is a cinnamon type. We planted a little bit of dill, parsley, cilantro, fennel, and thyme.
Hubby put in some spaghetti squash in one of the corner of the garden. Truth be told it is actual a pinnacle a littler version of the spaghetti squash.

Tuesday I was helping Murphette get out of her Apartment. David her future son in law and I was taking a load to the local auction. We got refuse...Let see there was an bed with a frame, a desk made out of particle board, two televisions. Confession time...I thought of throwing it all in the dump. There some reason why most of us do things in life. She hangs on to every little thing including broken item.
So I went and got her storage unit for the month of June and it's in her name. Statement time...it would be a favor if it got re-pro with her stuff in it. But before that I would go and pull out the sentimental items. Such as things like her fancy dishes, photos, books, spiritual items, things from her family.
Confession time...I've been practicing patience a lot lately, which is fairly common on this job.

So it my last day of work with Murphette. When she at my home Alice will come in and help her out. Then her daughter Edna from the Washington coast is picking her up week after her daughter Annie gets married and they're all heading south.
So it look like I'll have pretty much the entire month of June off except for Faith which is one day a week, Ellie who is once a month...she trying to get a home-care in her house but I don't think it will be until July.
Then I have a fill in for a few days.
But I had an opportunity there is a job out toward Curly creek. I don't mind filling in out there. I know in short time the people would majorly get to me. Plus it's a ways to drive on regular base.
I could use the break.

Weekend Photo Hunt (Creative-Famous Places)

One thing about the way my job is sat up there really not much creative to it. I would say I like a little balance between creative and ritual to my life. I heard about “Apple Salsa” I was going to give it a try but didn't get around to it.
I use what was available on our computer tried to be creative with the picture I took of the apple

  • 2 tart apples, cored and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 1 fresh Anaheim chile, seeded and sliced
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, lightly toasted
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

In a large bowl, stir together apples and lime juice. Stir in jalapeno and Anaheim chile slices. Stir in onion, cilantro, walnuts, ginger, and salt. Mix thoroughly.

  1.
Living in small populate area there not many famous place for miles around. But every town has some famous place in there area. When Bonners Ferry first came about we had no bridge but a ferry. A guy name of Edwin Bonner operated and owned the first ferry to cross the Kootenai river. This is was were ferry across at one time. By the look of the landscape around the area it had to be different. Now we cross the kootenai by bridge.

Next week photo hunt will be bridge and taste

Editor Note...I didn't play last weekend our computer was having issues.

It been a tiring week for me. Trying to fit my clients into there appointment. But I would guess I'll have the entire month of June off.

Putting things off to last minute, well almost. Murphette finely got into gear and started to move her stuff out of her apartment. Since she told the management that she would be out the 30th of this month.
I haven't done much in the ceramic line except got a few more molds ready to pour and mixed up a some slip that I can start to pour.
Well I had amazing thought or I don't know if it amazing. But let just said I learn something about my self. Why I have trouble completing goals or task.
When I was young I would be ask or assign some type of chore. I would say to my mother “It's done” she would reply “you did a good job, but...and give some reason why it didn't meet the standard. I don't recall her never using the word “but” with you did a “good job”
But I soon learn to say..”oh I'm still working on it” then I had my self protected from her criticism and I knew the project wasn't done.
Confession time...I might not do the exactly the same thing but in around about way it still hangs on to me...it seem like I don't shake it.

Not much for warm weather. So the tomatoes, peppers, artichokes, melon, and squash haven't been put out yet. There doing ok under the light.
I got some patina I bought from a greenhouse. I might just have to chance it and put them out.
It seem like the root crops we planted is doing ok. Except for the carrots and He-SHI-Ko a type of white bunching onions.

Ruggin' At the Cat's Lug and Raveling a' Her Thrums

Food Network Beet Kitchen Towel
Editor Notes...First of all Saturday post- on the dishes I didn't get paid for that one.

Let start off with Mothers day on this post. Considering I know it could be somewhat a length post. More then one subject to talk about.

Celebrate Mothers day by seeing the movie dark shadow Sawyer gave us the cash so we could see the movie. So Murphy and I went to a afternoon showing down in Sandpoint.
This movie was alright it would have been better if it could stand on it own, but it was based from the Television show of dark shadow
If you like a Romantic Comedy and I'm really picky on my romantic comedy. I wasn't all that impress with my “Big Fat Greek Wedding”
But as a satire comedy to me much better. Confession time...I like Satire humor. The movie was about one and half hours long, could easily be twice as long but it wasn't hardcore love story or horror flick. But as I said just above it need to be longer.
Consider the television dark shadow was made in mid 60's and went off the early 70's of course the special effects are much better.
Now for the charter Barnabas Collins the vampire who is the best? It depend what your looking for in your vampire. Johnny Depp  took the resent roll of Barnabas Collins he was a fun loving and wanted to fit in to this time period.
Jonathan Frid  who was the original Barnabas Collins he did put a tinge of sexuality to the roll.
Both of these actor had Barnabas with feeling but Jonathon Frid played it more strongly.
Could they be sequel...I assume so maybe a more fitting title should be “Mr and Mrs Barnabas Collins”
After going to the theater I would of wait for it come out on DVD or blue ray.
Quenella stop over after the Church Service was finish. There an Orthodox church about a mile from my place.
We went to Moose farms it local greenhouse. Quenella picked a shell bird-bath and some bugs decoration. I got two pony pack of petunia, purple and yellow and they were giving away some pansy for the moms on mothers day.
Plus I also picked up a tomatillo to put out in the garden.
Then during the week Murphy and I got anther roll in garden done. This roll has He-shi-ko a type of bunching onions with some tang to it. Planted 2 types of Kale, and some carrots.
Then as I was at work Murphy put in some celery he didn't put that much effort in it and if it makes it makes it.
Transplanted the leeks out and put a short roll of lettuce in.
Looks like quite a bit of the garden is starting to show. We got a real nice germination on the beets, the short roll of lettuce also came up thick, long with the swiss chard.
We started in pots some Melon French Charentais like a small cantaloupe. Then started also in couple of pots spaghetti squash more in the line of smaller version..
Saw Both Boys on Mothers Day weekend. Like I said Sawyer came up earlier it was Friday when he stop in.
Bart had to work on Saturday but that evening he came up. Sawyer girl friend Betty hitched a ride with Bart.
If their smart they went straight to the mud bog. Statement time...plenty of drinking and plenty of cops out there waiting to nail someone.
Sawyer did sort of had a so call Mud Bogger but some part on the rear end broke.
So Sunday Bart stop in and left.
Then Sawyer and Betty stop by and got Boo, that's sawyer dog she went and rolled in cow shit as she was staying with us.
Confession time..I worry if I'll say or do something to ruin my son relationship with their female relationships.

Weekend Photo Hunt (Children-Scoop)

To me it seem like Children of today is different then when I was a child. One thing I notice it seem like when I was younger I had chores that was expected of me. I got paid for some of them but others I didn't get paid.
One of my chores I did dinner dishes and clean up majority of the time.
Confession time...I once stuck dirty dishes in the oven so I could go out on a Friday evening. Never clicked with me at that time someone could possible open the oven and see those dirty dishes.

I talk to different people my own age about doing chores when they where younger. Statement time...I wasn't a servant to my parents. But some others felt like they where.
The simple way of putting it when I was doing some type of chores my parents wasn't sitting on there rear-ends but was also doing some type of projects or chore like things.

During last weekend photo hunt as Murphy and I was cleaning out the chimney it dawn on me what I could use for scoop.
Murphy went up on the roof and took a chimney brush to the chimney. I stayed down below and pulled on the twine with a weight on the end.
After a few times of pushing and pulling the brush though. I scooped out the soot.

Nest weekend photo hunt will be City Hall  and or Magical

Wamblin' Aff a Bodie's Knee L ike a Verra Eel,

Murphy and I had to run some errands Wednesday. Just piddly shit. But the last stop was to get my self anther geranium to sat out side of my doors.
I usual put out a red one in the front.
The new geranium I got is purple. It sure doesn't look like it in photo.
Confession time...I hope by now I learn to be more careful what I say in front of heavy duty Christians. I've said this to them. “If you keep a geranium in front of your door way it will keep way evil spirits.”
But there answers is “don't they know Jesus”
I like my geraniums.

Well Thursday I help Murphette and then I head over to Ellie who lives East of the Three Mile toward but quite not to Moyie Springs.
I'm trying to get her sign up for home-care she could use a little help around the place.
It look like I'll be loosing Murphette as a client.
Confession time...I know I couldn't handle this job more then 20 hours a week it pushing it at that.
Usual a person who getting home care usual get 5 to 10 hours a week.

Friday it was pretty darn nice outside. So I did two loads of wash hung them on the clothes line to dry.
Mowed on the lawn. I usual do my trimming with the push mower first.
Then use the riding lawn mower.
I was thinking back to the days when I mowed my parents lawn.
I rode my bike to local Pop and Mom little store. With a gallon jug in the basket they gave me a buck and I don't recall what gas cost then. Late 60's and Early 70's
I got a gallon of gas and with the left over change I got some type of treat.
The I put the gas can in my basket on my bike and rode home.
Statement time....I bet now that the child protection agency would have a fit now if they saw some kid hauling fuel on there bike now
Dad and Mom only had a riding mower for a short time it went on the tractor we use for the berry patch. I don't know the reason they got rid of the mower that went to the berry tractor.
I could only come up with 3 reasons they got rid of it.
  1. The tractor need to be used more in the berry patch and change the implements wasn't feasible.
  2. It didn't mow the lawn right and if I recall my dad made a comment about it scalping the lawn;
  3. It cost to much to use.
So about every Saturday mowing my parents yard, they did pay me one dollar for mowing the lawn. Which was a lot more then mowing the lawn, mower had bag on it which had to be dumped in the garden or the compost bin. Plus I had to do the trimming by hand.
Statement time...I would also bet the child protection agency would have a fit seeing a kid out mowing the grass also.

If your wondering why I just mowed on the grass and didn't finish the entire thing. One area I need Murphy to help me move the wood rack so I could mow in that area. He is at work now.
Confession time...The hill in back yard bothers me.

Today in the afternoon I took a shower and shave. Then I put on some short first time this year.

Not To Be Tossed

Just can't let Murphette be out on the street alone. She wants to move to a warmer area. I guess her finely destination will be Bakersfield.
But she had a dreadful childhood and it messed her up in so many ways.

When she was five or so she got hit by vehicle. Ended up being pin under the car and her mom just started to say something like “You did this on purpose” ended up in the hospital, with all sort of medical issue that she still carries to this day.
Statement time...She went and lived with her Nana because her mom didn't want to be bothered with a handicap or a disabled child...Her Nana loved her unconditional.
She started to walk but not a normal gate but she could be use as her mother personal servant. So she had to go back and live with her mom once again.

I won't list all the things she told me about her childhood, but I'll give you brief ideal what happen to her.

If she use to much ketchup her parents would stab her with a fork.
If she ask for something her parents would use a cigarette and burn her.
At time she got beaten so bad that she would pass out and then they threw water on her.
Never went to any of her programs, like concert or plays that she was in.
Made fun of her and use insulting terms with her.

The family moved a lot and or evicted a lot. They usually lived 3 months at place paid all the expense to move in and never paid the rent so in about 3 months they would be moving again.
Or if the abuse was to bad they would move into a different area. Sometime they would put Murphette under a different name...so at this way the parents wouldn't be charged with in type of child abuse.

Plus her ex-husbands treated her badly as her parents did.

She said she is going to stay with us for about 2 weeks. I'll see. But if she is toss out on the street someone will take advantage of her, as before.
I can't collected my pay for being her caregiver, a state thing. But I've talk to my friend Alice and she does the same thing as I do. And is willing to come in.
If she still living with us as of September 1st she will have to pay us $250 a month to stay here.
Not sure if her plans will totally work out. But this way she will able to keep her needed service. There is anther set of subsidize apartment power include her cost would be about $233 a month. That she could move in to.
I know she doesn't quite get $700 month combine checks, S.S.I and S.S.D

Confession time...I'm not much on most people...Statement time...I know, I wonder about my self...lets just leave it at that....The way some people makes their decisions I just can't believe it.

Let just say she didn't get out of dodge and move into a subsidize apartment. Alice would have to continue helping her for quite a while because Idaho is pretty strict about paying family and friends help the disable or handicap.
I would guess it would be a good 6 month before I could even become her caregiver again.

Then on the other hand if she leaves dodge she will have record of her care-giving services and will be easier for her to apply in that state.
Statement time... Here in Idaho if one doesn't use there care service in a 30 day period you will loose your benefits.

Statement time...After talking to my supervisor finding out what is what. One thing she will need to sign a lease agreement.

Statement time...As much as she been though it surprising she function as well as she does, that she isn't stand on some street corner singing “Camp Town Races” or “Home On the Range”

I just couldn't toss her out without it bothering me or not offering a helping hand. It would be bothering my psyche if I did.

Weekend Photo Hunt (Advertising-Zap)

A friend of mine is trying to set up a place where people can come and get married
Plus she is offering a peace garden for others to enjoy.
So different people been helping her with her web site, so it will be advertised.

Countless time I've been zap an electric fence. The worst zap I got when I was moving irrigation pipe in a horse wet horse pasture and I accidentally hit the hot fence with metal pipe.
Statement time...It hurt like hell...After that I learn to turn off the fence so I would get ZAP.

Next weekend photo hunt theme will be children and or scoop

Confession time...the picture for advertised I didn't take but have taken pictures of her place.

Not much more to report.

Three In One

Hope later on I find the complete obituary on a 1st cousin of my mother by marriage.

KENNEWICK -- Loretta G. McCalmant, 80, of Kennewick, died April 26 at Hospice at the Chaplaincy in Kennewick.
She was born in Greeley, Colo., and lived in Kennewick since 1958.
She was a homemaker.
Columbia Memorial Funeral Chapel, Pasco, is in charge of arrangements.

The seedling we started is doing o.k. Looks like a few could be transplanted in a larger containers. Another roll in the veggie garden got planted. Most of the roll consist of Beet, Round Red Ace. Then I finished the roll with Lettuce, All Star Gourmet Mix and Swiss Chard, Multicolor Bright Lights.
Use the food dehydrator to dry some carrots we got. I was looking at a blog called homestead survival and they had a picture of different dried vegetables. So I came up with the ideal of drying different veggies. I see so many possibility.
I found some morel mushroom a few in our yard. So Murphy found a few larger ones but they were so old or some animal ate on them.

I know I haven't said anything about this yet here on my blog. The lady I take care of Murphette is going come and stay with me for about 2 weeks. Some of her decision she makes I just shake my head. Any how at some other time I'll post more about it. I don't mind helping someone and I know she would be safe at my home.

Today is Tuesday, March 7, 2024: This Is What Happened.

Yesterday, May 6, 2024. I posted about a guy who lived constitutionally. And I posted about him carrying a gun into a store. You can read my...
