Today Is Friday, January 31, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I'm Watching Dark Shadow, the old Gothic Soap opera. I tried a new way of doing a self-portrait. I looked in a cosmetic mirror and did not look at paper as I did my self-portrait. It was quite a different experience. It wouldn't be easy. I'm hooking up with FACE OFF.

I'm not sure where my country is heading. At times, I just want to crawl into a hole and shut the lid. President Trump's behavior toward the jet and helicopter crash on the Potomac River is just plain cruel. Then, blame it on DEI ( Diversity—Equity—Inclusion). Take a listen to what Trump said about AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL. A lease the first 3 minutes.( Blue vase - 1920 – Style Metaphysical art and post impressionism – Genre still life – place unknown)

Today, Murphy and I had lunch at the senior center. Before we ate our lunch, someone led us in mealtime prayer. When we said "Amen," some guy said, "God Bless" Trump. I don't know who it was. I didn't see who it was. "God" wouldn't be pleased with his behavior. Trump's behavior is arresting.

Our lunch was great: potato soup with ham and bacon in it.( On the outskirts of town – 1941 – Style Post impressionism – Genre landscape – Place Unknown)

February is my birthday month. If the road is good, I will head to Spokane to spend time with my son Bart's family. We haven't had Christmas, so I will miss my art intuitive group. But now we are gathering at Lore Coffee Shop for drawing on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. I'm sure My Art Intuitive form is welcome. Then, next Wednesday, I will be going to the watercolor group. (Fiori – 1950 – Style magic realism – Genre flower painting – Place nnknown location)

Today, the art movement is called METAPHYSICAL, and I'm sharing the works of GIORGIO MORANDI.

Today Is Thursday, January 30, 2024: This Is What Happened.

Not much post. No photos. Around three in morning I keep waking up and my brain is full of thoughts. I keep thinking of great plans. Time to get up I feel like a walking zombie.

Today Is Tuesday, January 28, 2025: This Is What Happened.

What I'm hearing on the news is almost scary. No it is, Scary. I can't believe the American people elected Trump. I'll just leave it there for this post. (Composition XIII woman in studio – 1918 – Style Neo Plasticism – Genre abstract – Media oil on canvas – Location KUNST MUSEUM)

Murphy and I went to the senior center for lunch. A lovely meal, plenty to eat. I really liked the loaded Cauliflower. They had there food give away. With price of food now days. The give away helps. Afterwards we stop at the grocery store. (Design for a tile floor, and entrance hall – 1917 – style Neo Plasticism - Genre design – location unknown)

Before we went to the senior center. Took out the kitchen trash and put it in a bigger can, in the garage. And general chores around the place. Finish up my self portrait. I will be sharing it on FRIDAY FACE. This up coming Friday the 31st. (Composition IX opus 18 – 1917 – Style Neo Plasticism – Genre abstract – Media Oil on canvas – Location KUNSTMUSEUM.

Today Is Sunday, January 26, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I'm waiting for the paint to dry. I've started a self-portrait in my art journal. I plan to do a self-portrait looking into a mirror, but not on to the paper. I'm sort of doing it blindly.

The other thing I got done today is. Pay two of our bills—the other I will pay next month. The rest of the bills will come shortly after the first. Looked into my Grammarly subscription. I knew about it in plenty of time to take care of it. But I didn't. I was hoping I could either cancel or lower the cost down. In bold print, it says: All future payments will be canceled, and your plan will be downgraded to the free version of Grammarly at the end of your current subscription period. So, I marked it on the calendar. So, I will take care of Grammarly in the first part of December, but I can't afford it. I got a check to go out for the credit card and hospital bill.(The avenue – 1921 to 1923 – Style Expressionism and Cubism – Genre City Escape – Medium on canvas – location unknown)

I've been reading my book. I will read it later today. Let's see. We made the bed and did an upload of laundry. The clothes are now in the dryer. ( Beyond the Radiant Valley – 1918 – style Fauvism, Cubism, - Genre landscape – medium gouache, paper – location unknown)

It's been on the cold side—actually freezing. I was asked what an art collaboration was. It's when we all work on one project as a group. At art yesterday, we passed around our art journal and added a little something to each page. I want to add a little something before I post. I need to locate the exact knife, although I didn't look all that much. (The Archer – 1917 – located in private collection)

Today art movement will be DADA. There some Dada work I familiar with ALICE BAILLY. But she didn't do much with the dada movement. This is piece of dada, called Military guard. Done by SOPHIE ARP.

Today Is Saturday, January 25, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I got another nine artist trading cards. These cards came from Washington, Idaho, and when I say Idaho, they are from the local area. Then there is Maryland and an unknown place.

I went to Art Insight at LORE. We did an art collaborative today. My page isn't entirely done. When I'm done, I will post it. If all works out, I should post it before Wednesday. I like doing art collaborations.

Finish wrapping up the rest of the Christmas gifts. If there is not a snowstorm, both Murphy and I will go to Spokane next Saturday.

Coffee is on.

Today Is Wednesday, January 22, 2024: This Is What Happened.

This morning, I meant Qunella at Under the Sun. Their plain black coffee is under $2.00 a cup, and you can get all the refills you want or need. They also carry a great lunch menu. I'm hooking up with

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I arrive at Under The Sun before Qunella. I went up to the loft and had my coffee. Practice drawing one of their couch. After coffee, I walked over to the post office. To buy an international stamp. They were out of them. The postal clerk wasn't sure when they would be getting some. (The libra is inflamed and the pyramids – 1921 – Style Dada – Genre abstract – Location Unknown)

Stop at the store. Eggs are still expensive. Once Trump was in office, eggs and gas would be super cheap. Dozen eggs are just under $6. And gas, in the last week or so, has gone up .20¢. Regular gas is running $2.75 to $3.00 a gallon. (Five O'Clock Tea – 1917 – Style Futurism – Genre Abstract – Location Unknown)

Today's art movement is FUTURISM. I will be only sharing two works by JULIUS EVOLA.

Tuesday, January 21, 2025

Today Is Tuesday, January 21, 2024: This Is What Happened.

Yesterday, Murphy and I finished up the dining room wall. We're both a little sore. Well, I've been a lot sore. I think on Thursday, we're going to do the fan in the dining area.

At art last Saturday, the 18th, we did some paper weaving. I think the last time I did some paper weaving was in grade school.

Well, I sort of listened to Trump's speech. We had the TV during his inauguration speech, but we were finishing up the dining room wall. Over on YouTube, I've been watching about different countries. Today, I've been trying to learn about Jordan. Later on, I think I will watch something on John II the Good and, if there is time, Jaguarundi.(Demonstration in Imereti – 1924 – Expressionism – Oils – Location GEOGRIAN MUSUEM FINE ART)

Murphy and I went to the senior center for lunch. We had their food giveaway, and we got quite a few veggies. Plus, we had some small errands to take care of.

I wrapped up a couple of Claudia and Wendy's gifts. Their Christmas gifts are still here. For the first full weekend in February, we will go to Spokane to celebrate Christmas. Lease it before Valentine's Day.(Alavdoba – 1928 – photo – location unknown)

Today art movement is AVANT GARDE. I will be sharing the works of DAVID KAKABADZE. (Constructive Decorative Composition – 1924 – Style Abstract – Medium glass, wood, mental, and tempra – location private collection)

Today Is Sunday, January 19, 2025: This Is What Happened.

Cuss, cuss, cuss, cuss, cuss, cuss, cuss, cuss, cuss, and here is my last cuss. I took a photo of my artwork, and an error kept popping up. Hopefully, I can figure it out. Not today. (Winter Landscape – 1906 – Style Pointillism – Genre Landscape – Unknown Location)

I started another page in my art journal. I've just been working on the background, which represents me.

I'm starting to read a new book, THE NATURE OF FRAGILE THINGS. So far, I'm enjoying it.

Murphy and I wash a small section of the wall. Either tomorrow or Thursday, we will tackle another section. (Praying Woman – 1912 – Style Cubism – Genre Pencil and study – unknown place)

I'm not sure if we're totally losing a social media platform. It's called TikTok. I don't do TikTok. When I was over at different places, people showed me a few video clips. I spent enough time on social media, and I heard that the Chinese are spying through the TikTok platform on us Americans. They could very well be.

But on the other hand, I'm fairly sure we, as Americans, spy through other social media pipelines—both friend and foe. If I'm being spied on, I'm sure it would be easy to doze off.

I'm unsure if I will watch any part of the inauguration. I can't stand what could possibly happen coming up. Then, On the other hand, it isn't good for any of the worlds to stick their heads in a hole. (Victory Over The Sun – 1913 – Style Cubism; Supermatism – Genre Design – Location Unknown)

The art movement is SUPERMATISM, which I had never heard of, so I even looked up the word. I'm sharing the work of KAZIMER MALEVICH, who does have his own site.

Coffee is on.

Today Is Friday, January 17, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I finished another set of artist trading cards. I did a set of fish, with one that isn't a fish. Soon, I will post them on ARTIST TRADING CARDS. But today, I'm sharing them on FRIDAY FACE OFF.

Today, I got a different phone. I had to get things moved from one phone to another. Well, guess what? I had a different SIM card. I ordered one. (Still life – Time Unknown – Location Unknown)

Murphy has been hurting a lot these last few days. (Corsican landscape – 1907 – Location Unknown)

I went to the senior center and had pizza. Plus, we all had a piece of carrot cake to celebrate those born In January. (Composition – 1928 – Location Unknown)

Today's art movement is ABSTRACT. I'm featuring the work of AUGUSTE HERBIN.

Today Is Thursday, January 16, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I’m staying home today. I don’t mind staying home, but I wouldn’t want to do it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Right now, I know I will be coming across as a hypocrite. I like a challenge. I believe challenges are a great way to grow. They explore possibilities.

Every month, ART JOURNAL JOURNEY comes with a theme, or, as I like to use the term, a challenge. Quite a few times, I couldn’t come up with anything, or I was intimidated to take part. Or I could say I sat on my hands and did nothing. This month’s challenge is dots! I recall coloring dots. I’ve been trying to find a company that could make a custom-made dot-to-dot coloring book.

It is THURSDAY THIRTEEN. I’m going to tackle the letter L.

Lady...One of my distant cousins. On her death, certified, her occupation was a “Lady,” I sure wouldn’t call myself a lady. I swear. (A still life with a cherry bottle – unknown time – unknown place)

Leo... My youngest son's actual name is Leo. People ask me if he was born under the sign of Leo. No, he was born under the sign of Taurus.

Licorice... I like licorice. My mother didn’t care for it. When she was still in Nebraska. She found a whiskey bottle and sold it to the bootlegger. With that nickel, she bought a bag full of licorice. She ate the entire bag. Which made her sick. My Grandma Olive, my mom’s mom. If candy was brought in house. It was divided equally between all. My grandparents had 12 offspring’s.This happened before 1937.

Loud... I’m not a fan of super loud noise.

Lake Louise. I have been to Lake Louise up in Canada.

Love...It is something that can be looked at in different ways. I know it is real. (Girl with mandolin – Unknown time – Location Unknown)

Larry...There was a boy named Larry in my first-grade class. He and I would jump off a wood shed roof. I also have a cousin named Larry.

Lost...For me, being lost is nerve-wracking. I have never been seriously lost. I have, more or less, gotten my barring off.

Lambrain...Our elected President Trump called some person a Lambrain. Well, he should look in the mirror.

Liver...I like liver.

Lake...We have a lake and mountain peak called Long.

Lipstick. I would be out in public without makeup, which includes lipstick.

Louisiana...I have listed two books in my good read shelf under Louisiana. DIARY OF A MISFIT. And MIDDLE PASSAGE (Still life with a boar’s head – 1949 – Location Unknown)

I send an card to Poet. She pass out at Bingo, a week ago Thursday. She is home. I briefly talk to her husband Fleming in store. For some reason her blood pressure was off.

Today art movement is, CUBISM. When cubism is mention, I think of Pablo Picasso. EMIL FILLA who works I will be sharing. I’ve even done or should say play around with cubism.

Coffee is on.

Wednesday, January 15, 2025

Today Is Wednesday, January 15, 2025. This is what Happened.

I usually don't start my blog post this time of the day. I thought I would get a start on it. Considering I'm having bite eat with Qunella at super one deli. They have good soup. Super reasonable priced. Afterward I'm going to my watercolor class. (The Annunciation – 1849/1850 – Located at the tate)

I thought yesterday was Wednesday. But today is. My shoes and sock was the last thing I put on today. I'm connecting with WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

Made to lunch at small bowl of Lobster bisque. It was $2 something. I need $3 for the donation can. It is for my watercolor class. (Dante version of Rachel and Leah – 1855 – Located at the Tate)

Today art movement is AESTHETICISM, which I never heard of. But I have heard the term “Art for art's sake” I will be sharing the work of DANTE GABRIEL ROSSETI. At first I didn't recognized his name put I did recognized these art piece. (Proserpine – 1874 – Located at the TATE.)

Today Is Tuesday, January 14, 2025: This Is What Happened.

In the late afternoon, I played around with my GELI PLATES. For now, let's call it a learning experience.

Put gas in pick up. $30 put a half a tank of gas. Murphy talked about getting the tires rotated. Soon, we need to replace the tires. Like most things in our life. Figuring out the money part of it. Money issues sometimes can be crippling. But we will get through it. Sometimes, I need to pull some money out of my IRA (Individual Retirement Account) to cover my 2025 cost. Like house insurance, car insurance, and property tax. We're choosy about what we pull out of the IRA with fires in California. Insurance is going to increase. (Meduza - 1904 - Location Unknown)

Murphy and I made a dump run. When I was younger, going to the dump was an adventure. I took it forward. I recall riding in a green 1957 GMC pickup with my dad. Going to the dump was a thrill. These days, not as much. (Red Umbrella - 1917 - Location Unknown)

We went to the senior center and had lunch. They serve pork chops. (Strange Garden- 1902/1903 - Place Unknown)

I will be sharing the SECESSION art movement today, which I have never heard of. The artist I'm featuring today is JOZEF MEHOFFER. I haven't recognized his name or work.

Coffee is on.

Today Is Wednesday, July 16, 2025: This Is What Happened.

Tomorrow is my moontha. Like a sabbath. Just going to do not much of anything. I wish I could honestly say I wasn't going to do anyth...
