Mid week and I'm going to attempt to a journal or writing prompt. I'm tired and ready to hit the sack. This one start a story for you and I need to finish it.
It was morning as helicopter roared into life...Much hasn't happen in village of Kootville since the war many years back. There was parade for those returning from last war, which was over 70 years ago. Those who served, which was five and one didn't come home. The town carried for it people and when some died it broke the towns heart. Even war been something like 70 years and town would be more vigilance about sending any of their village people off to war.
One shouldn't jump to any thoughts, feeling, and such. Not knowing the facts. The local so called air plane place had few planes. But no one knew if helicopter exist or not. Than the question came why would village need helicopter. To find out a few town folks decided to adventure over to airport, south end of village. And see who was around and hopeful put there mind to easy.
In short time the few was the airport hoping to find some info, and they found the ground keeper, who was about to trim tall grasses around the hangers. Everyone shook hands and gave quick hug. And the ground keep side there almost a full pot of coffee.
They went inside and found some chair, which showed age and no one seem to care. Soon the concern of helicopter was brought up. It was quick simple the state decide that every out of so many people they need a helicopter for transport, search and resure. Mainly to serve the community. It was all cleared up and in couple weeks or so. Local story was to be but in the paper.
A fictional story.

ReplyDeleteThere is something about helicoptors that somehow always carry a sensation of either a) menace or b) gratitude. The first because they are indeed so associated with war (and one in particular). The second because they can reach places other transport and people simply cannot and thus have saved countless lives... YAM xx
As long as there's coffee it's all good Dora 😉
ReplyDeleteNice story. Enjoy your coffee.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed your story. We hear helicopters here all the time, traffic helicopters and medical helicopters too.
ReplyDeleteNice story.
ReplyDeleteWhen there is coffee, every thing will be fine!
ReplyDeleteI want to be in a town that hasn't had to send anyone to war in 70 years.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Liz above, how nice it would be to think an area hadn't needed to send anyone off to war in 70 years. I like the feel of your story. I like that people hugged before what was in essence a business meeting. Sounds like a more gentle time.

Now I'm wondering what I might write with a helicopter prompt.
ReplyDeleteWe have a drama queen in the family. This person would start out, "In many ways I'm like a ---" Well, one day another person plugged in the word, "helicopter" and that's become kind of a byword in our family. "In many ways I'm like a helicopter." Yep.
