So far, the best thing about
retirement. I have choices, although not where to go on a world trip.
Today I chose to get down on my hands and knees and scrub my main
bathroom floor
. Corners and all.
Took a short walk this
morning. My right ankle is bothering me.
Now on my right
ankle. I had this quarter horse, Dino. Who was over sixteen hands? I
got on Dino bareback. He never had anyone on him bareback. It
startled him; he flinched. I went into the air. Did a somersault in
mid-air. And landed on my feet like a cat. Twist about my right
ankle. It all swells up. Had an x-ray. They saw nothing at that
time.
Oh, I mowed some of the lawn today. Plus went over to
the senior center for lunch. We had mashed potatoes and meatloaf with
gravy. And peas. Plus pineapple. They offer milk and juice. I skipped
the milk.
On Tuesday and Friday, they have a food giveaway.
But
we had to take care of other stuff as well in town. Get some auto oil
and a filter. Return two books to our library.
Let's talk
about one of the library books for a minute. My friend Lolita's book
she got. Lolita hasn't been well, so I drop off her book. I don't
recall the title. But as my husband was getting in getting oil and
such. I stayed in pick up. Read a few pages at random of her book.
Its genre was Christian after reading a few pages. I became
irritated. What a bunch of male chauvinist pigs.
The other
place we stopped was the gas station, got gas for the mower and
rototiller. And stop at the grocery store.
Coffee is on, and
stay safe.
...check your calendar, I believe that today is Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. Opps!
DeleteYes, retirement is like that but at least it is all on your schedule now.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day
ReplyDeleteThing is, the day or date doesn’t mean near as much when you’re retired. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI can testify that injured ankles can come back to haunt you in later life.
ReplyDeleteWhen I retired I started marking off each day on the calendar as the evening news came on TV, that way I never got mixed up.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeleteCheers to you on retirement! I have a bad right foot/ankle problem. I went for a 3 mile walk. It hurts like the dickens but I need exercise.
ReplyDeleteSounds to take up horseback riding for a living.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your retirement! Valerie
ReplyDeleteOuch. It sounds like you're enjoying having your own time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe my house will be cleaner when I retire, maybe not.
