Having Wednesday off is undoubtedly
good for my mental, emotional, and physical well-being. I got a few
little things done around the place.
Pick up our taxes. Federal,
we owed $1,444; from the state, we are getting back $200. The money
from the state is our part of purchasing food. Idaho has a sale tax
on food. Which I call a regressive tax on the lower income
people.
Art social tonight.
Coffee is on, and stay safe.
Food is one of the few things which isn’t taxed here.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least the taxes are done, mine aren't yet. I dread doing them but I'll have them done before the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that's a load off, having the taxes done. Now you don't have to worry about it for another year.
ReplyDeleteI agree that food should not be taxed. No necessity of life should be.
ReplyDeleteNo sales tax on groceries in New York, but we do have high state income taxes and property taxes.
ReplyDeleteI wish food wasn't taxed, here they call it GST and almost everything has a GST attached. We all know it is a tax.
ReplyDeleteThe taxes on food here are bad, and everything is so expensive just now! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDelete...sales tax on food is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI am reminded about taxes. I still have to do ours. We have until the end of April.
ReplyDeleteI've got to do the nonprofit business tax filings. It's easy with the feds, harder with the state but not that hard. It's just doing it, for some reason I balk. Good for you getting it done. It's a good feeling once its over with.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the poorer you are this year the more you pay in taxes.
ReplyDeleteWe got our taxes done too. I read it is good idea to get them done early.
ReplyDeleteRepublicans love sales tax as it taxes the poor at a higher rate than the rich but food is carrying it too far
