I will try to catch my grammar and such in this posting. Been quite busy today.
Hubby and I did up some pickle beets, 6 quarts. and froze 3 quarts of beet green. Plus there some left in garden. I'm leaning toward dehydrate some. Well the good thing it wasn't all that hot. Kitchen didn't heat up. Kitchen got up to maybe 78 (25)
Last night sew up some more strips. Adventurely it will become a 2 (5) blocks. So far my count is just over 60. My goal is do up 100 blocks and I'm sure I will have some left over.
These are 2 I did last night, in all honest I'm not a fan of them
Than these I like.
But here are the ones I like and don't. A possible up coming block.
I thought this was strange or first time I every saw a fabric label, on the material.
Recently I been moving along on my stash of fabrics. Here what went though this MORNING
...I need to can beets too!
ReplyDeleteLovely collection of fabrics
ReplyDeleteOur garden outdid itself this year and we are swamped. Corn is done, all blanched, removed from cob and in the freezer. 30+ litres of dill pickles, 30 litres of tomato juice and another 10 litres to process today. Usually our tomatoes get a blight of some kind and do not yield. This year they are crazy. We have given away buckets and eat as many fresh as we can. I wish Tanya made beet pickles. She boils, peels and freezes them or in late fall will put the rest in the root cellar.
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely fabrics! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI've never pickled anything. I do blanch and freeze some vegetables, my mum used to make pickles, things like green tomato pickle, tomato relish, stuff like that. And she made jams, apricot and plum mostly.
ReplyDeleteThat last square of fabrics looks pretty.
You've gone for colorful fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love pickled beets. Lots of piecing going on with your fabric
ReplyDeleteI'll bet those beets are really good!
ReplyDeleteIt is canning season and beets are a favorite. I notice you mention catching your grammar. Do you have a Microsoft Program called "Word" on your computer? What I found handy when composing blog posts was to write the post on "Word" first and then cut n paste it to my blog. The Word program has a wonderful grammar and spelling check. Anyway, just thought I'd share.
ReplyDeleteI was super tired when I wrote out this post.
DeleteYou got a lot done!!
ReplyDeleteWe like roasted beet better than pickled beet. They look great though.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeleteHi I watched the video, liked seeing your outside landscape you seem to have a lot of land there :) the fabric I would find a bit overwhelming as I have ocd to be honest and so don't allow myself too much of anything.. I was interested about the pickled stuff, we don't do much of that in the UK, some people go overboard and pickle onions and make chutneys for Christmas but I have never done that - it looks like it's a breeze for you to do - I wouldn't know where to start. Is it beetroot in vinegar? and how long can it stay in the jar for?
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing the finished project when it's all done.
ReplyDeleteProgress is being made.
