My Choice of Charity 2014.

If it wasn't for Christmas and actual Christmas isn't all that kind to our fellow humans. I wonder how giving we would be.
I have a major hang ups on “religious base charities” Confession time...I don't trust most of them” But I like to help out and try to make someone life a better; for what I can.
I thought of sending $15 a month to Second Harvest
Second Harvest is part of our local food bank here.
Feeding America is large scale program to help out the local center for individual food banks.

I'm going to help Qwin out though out 2014 on a monthly bases. I'm still in 98% of income bracket. I'm not going or can't to cover all of Qwin needs in life but I can free up some of his cash a little.
Qwin is son of one my friend Alice. He get SSI I would guess his income is in the upper seven-hundred dollar range.
He also has SNAP (Food Stamps) and Medicaid.
He has two sons. I know SSI doesn't have any benefits for children or depends.
With all the cuts to program that aids the needy. I'm not sure what he all gets now. Not sure if all the states, Idaho won't let you deducted any housing cost off for the SNAP (food stamps)

If your wondering why SSI he has Kalnienk

I'm going to do small things like give $20 on his power bill, purchase items for his sons like socks, underwear, gloves, shoes, and etc. Then also I can get the odd thing such as paper towel, toilet paper, ticket to a game and what ever odd thing in life.

I'm stay hidden in closet as I help out Qwin a little.

Kick To the Curb.

I like blogging. To find out some bloggers like the rest of the world is pretty touchy about certain subject.
I start to be part of ultimate blog challenge
They also have a facebook page. Four times a year one would blog every day for the month put a link to your blog on there facebook page. Sound simple. Well let me finish. As far as I could see the only rule was “No Spam” They didn't want any heavy selling of items. I complete understand.
Twice, I up set someone. One was using the term “Nigger” It wasn't use as a racial slur. In my line of thinking when an employer don't treat you with common respect. It doesn't matter what your skin color, ethical background, sexual ordination, or choice of religion.
Confession time...In private thought I refer to my Aunt Eve hired man as her nigger. He is a white man. I just don't feel like blogging about it. But I see there relationship as the master and slave.
Oh now back to being booted. Short time ago I blog about “poop” and wondering if we sniffed each poop way back when we were stone age people.
Don't quote me; but I bet 90% of the animals do. It's there way of finding and learning who is who. I bet us human also sniff each poop way and mean way back when.
My post on poo was simple evolution.
When I was taking part in the ultimate blog challenge after you left the link to your blog. The two blogs above yours you visit and leave a comment.
Not sure how many they where but it seam like there were plenty of post on; selling there self help book.
I end up finding some new blogs that I'll stop in every so often to visit in 2014.

Kick me to curb somehow I'll always figure how to get cup of coffee.

Don't Look Out The Window.

Winter is here. But if you look out the window in North Idaho. Actual it looks like January thaw. It melting raindrops are falling from the clouds above. Drive way has a sheet of ice on it.

Christmas is a go. Present all wrap stuck on the tree. But tomorrow evening Murphy and I will be going to his sister house. Most of the Present will go there then.
I talk to my sister in law Faith. To make sure that some long lost person mostly a youngster doesn't pop out of the wood work. That I'm not ware of.
But it sure sound like a fairly smaller gathering the usual. I figure 14 and 5 of them will be under 18.
Neither one of my son will be up for Christmas.
Bart and his girl friend will be celebrating Christmas at her folks place. But they came and had Thanksgiving up here.
Then for my son Sawyer and wife Betty is celebrating Christmas with her parents. Her sister who lives in Boise I believe came up today and going back on Friday the 27th.
Thanksgiving Betty had to go to work that evening.
Yesterday Sawyer and one of his friend came up an drop off packages Let see one is to me, one to Murphy and one between us. Confession time...Murphy gift is place in one of those gift bags and I peek in it...He got a box of shells for one of our rifles.
I send our gifts down there.

I'm evening thinking about next year. I'm sort of day dreaming planning what I would get for grand-kids. I gather have my children want to be parents.
Opinion time...One real can't be a parent and grand parent at the same time. There is a difference.

Actual I'm even thinking of 2014 Christmas. One thing I'm considering is getting the girls Jewelry kits. My friend LaWalla bought some and she showed me them. I thought they would be nice gifts and it seem like Quincy daughters like doing them.
I try to pick up my Christmas cards between the 26th and the new years. Lot of my cards come from thrift stores.

Happy Yule and Egg Nog is on.

Praise The Lord For More Mental Illness

I wonder about these religious heavy duty people. 24 hours seven days week for year after year. They live around there faith.
The other day I was sitting in starbuck waiting for my client to get done shopping. A lady came in from Kalispell Montana she had two children with her a boy and girl. Plus at the other end was a young male. We talk about coffee.
Wasn't me brought up religion or politics. But somehow the conversation got leaning that way. The lady said there house hold was a “Christian one, and man is head of the house hold” To fine out that some reason CPS (Child Protecting Service) had paid her visit.
I guess blind faith is post to help you out. For a few minutes I thought someone was going to sing a hymn or two.
I know alcoholics and druggies are lacking a higher power. There really encourage to find a higher power to help them over come. You know “We (I) Shall over come” Listen to lord our god. Sound like there promoting “ schizophrenia”
The man there came up with the theory that “The government don't won't us to be Christian nation” Opinion time...The government should be taxing the churches..Or charging admission people to attended. Hell! I went to a concert, play or etc I have to pay admission.
Then also he thought that the christian would be the first to have there gun taken away. See anther mantel illness being promoted Paranoid disorder. Any day now you better keep close eye out “Devil is going to bite you on the ass”
put all into the lord money and time. What else one can give to the lord. I bet the lord actual would like a 90% tithing into the offering. There anther mental illness “Addictive Personality”
I could go on more about religion as mental illness can't function with out. I've seen alcoholics this way. My dad drank a fifth and function worked on railroad for 50 years .
I believe in a higher power but I know I'm not going to pray and receive a cup of coffee. I have to get off my rear end and do what needs to be done.

I Didn't Want to Make Stink

I had a few thoughts on what my blog post was going to be about. There few topic I want to blog about. My thoughts on any thing sure isn't going to make two hoops and shout about a thing. I sure not going change much of any thing.
Christmas is pretty much covered. A few cans of pet food to get. A cribbage board and deck of playing cards.
Started wrapping and bagging gifts and send out Christmas Cards.

It was frustrating to anything with using dial up on computer. Since we got wi-fi though Broadband
compare to other places it a little costly. Living rural part of North Idaho they don't offer any bargain deals when it comes to your internet connection.
But since I put in broadband I start to keep track of what I eat, drink, mood, and journal using fitday
I haven't yet put in my activity level.
Last time I went to our TOPS and weight in for the week I came in second place as pounds lost. Only one lady gain at our local tops chapter

Now for those who are wondering what other stuff I want to blog about..the environment, religion (Christian as mental illness) (Christian who poop don't stink) economy, work, and daily life.

It's All In The Poop.

I'm not trying to be gross. Most animals I know sniff each other poop. To determine different things about each other.
I grew up around horses. Well I knew horse gather in a circle facing each other to determine who is who in group. By stomping there feet. Kind of like meeting who is top pony.
I was watching a show on horses. Stallions will go poop in area and then sniff each other poop to determine male matured.
I wonder when we live as cave people after a cave person took a poop. We went and sniff it to determine something about the other cave people.

Sure glad our nose became smaller and our sense of smell is bad compare to other animals. I heard us human are pretty smelly creatures. Look at our digestion

$2.13 An Hour Won't Get You A Gallon Milk

Not long ago I post this on my facebook page...saying “Herman Cain” Nothing more. I was called a racists. Question time.... Could some one please tell me what's is racists about the picture above?
Herman Cain lobbied or petition the government, not to raise restaurant worker wages
Which he has the right to do. Which I don't agree with.
I waited tables and general rule of thumb back then. Most place paid under one dollar of minimum wage. So if that held true one be getting $6.25 an hour now.

I've posted about working. A livable wages and employers exploit there workers.

Before Noon

Last thing we did before noon was go to Safeway Last thing we did before noon was go to Safeway. They had chicken for .79¢ a pound. So we got four of them. Will end up with eight meals and two bags of odds and ends for stew. A whole chicken is just to much for the two of us.
The other piece of meat was a shank ham for .99¢ a pound. Not exactly what we will be doing with the ham. I know will make some type of soup with the bone. We got lentil here.
Bananas are little higher at Safeway, .59¢ a pound most of the other place are little cheaper. Not that much that I have to drive. The fuel would cost me more then what is being save. Oh the had a five pound box of tangerines for three something. I always look though the discount section. I got 4 yogurts for .25¢ each.

Finely got the stuff out of the basement pantry. Took three box of item to local thrift store. Actual it wasn't that long ago it was gone though. Next it should be organized.
Out of the basement pantry I made up small sack of food that could be given to our local food bank. Nothing wrong with it. But it something we just don't care to eat. I keep hearing that local food pantry can always use some help.
Organization wouldn't hurt the pantry in the basement.

Put up a few of my Christmas Decoration. I bought some mugs with Cats on them. But only found one of them. For family get together we have white elephant exchange. One of the gifts is a mug with a coffee table book and freshly ground coffee from Nectar of Life.
I would like to find the other mug but only paid a dollar for it.

The pillow cases I been working on is coming a long nicely. Got all the leaves done. Right now I'm embroidering in some smaller circles being done in a turquoise.

Christmas Isn't to Support To Break The Bank

Thursday my friend Qunella and I went to Sandpoint to do some minor Christmas shopping. On the way down we talk about variety of subjects.
See Quenella family never put much value on her as a homemaker. She never worked outside of the home. The night before she was talking to her mom. For some reason her mom once again brought up the fact when her hubby got injured on heavy construction and got on SSD, that she never went into the work force after that either.
Opinion Time...Her husband Micheal wouldn't deal well of being home alone, for any length of time. I don't believe he would adjust well emotional or mental.
My mom side is into consumerism. And they look at me as a bottom feeder. We don't have such things as four wheelers, snowmobile, boats, and such things. Our vehicles our bought used.
Most of them our so far in debt that if any of them lost there job I believe a lot of them would be homeless.
I go to such thing as yard sells, thrift store, raise a garden and etc
Sort of reminds me of the story “People of the lie”
Confession time...I like a low consumer life so “my soul isn't own by the company” It gives me a sense of comfort.

I've read that some people spend so much on gifts that they can't pay there monthly bills and or purchase food. I stay with in a budget, I don't buy bunch of trash gifts so I can brag on number of gifts or prices. Still this month we will eat and the bills for the month will be paid.

This year I tired to stay away from big box store such as wal-mart. But Quenella got few things out of there. As she was going though the check out stand. I didn't come right out and ask what she made. But she said she couldn't afford Christmas. I know there people doesn't matter what they make they will always struggle when it comes to paychecks.

I tried to get all of my Christmas gifts from Mom and Pop business. One place I got quite a few of my gifts was from Bonners Books.
This year all most everyone is receiving a book from me. For the adult drawing I'm giving mug which I bought used for $1.00 threw freshly ground coffee and book Material World
For one of the kids I got the book Alice In Wonderland and for my son Sawyer he is also getting the book Woof

As Quenella was in Sandpoint we stop in at Sandpoint Chocolate had few truffles and some coffee.

Two of relatives by marriage took a trip on the other side...
My Aunt Glenda is an Aunt by marriage married one my mothers brothers...

Glenda Doreen McCalmant
(September 25, 1940 - November 15, 2013)
Glenda Doreen McCalmant passed away on November 15, 2013 at the Boundary Community Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Memorial services are to be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho with a private family inurnment service at Grand View Cemetery also in Bonners Ferry, Idaho.
Glenda was the sixth of eight children born to Leslie Earl Frans and Elva Sabina Hodgson Frans on Sept. 25, 1940 in Sandpoint , Idaho. As a young child, she lived on Highland Flats in Naples, Idaho and attended 1st and 2nd grade there. After a house fire the family moved to Bonners Ferry where she attended the Northside School, Valley View School, and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1959.
Glenda met her husband XXX in her later teens and married him on December 6, 1958. They celebrated almost 55 years of marriage together.
During the first few years of their marriage, they lived in town and then bought a home in District 2. Through years of hard work, XXX and Glenda turned an old homestead into a real home- a source of pride and joy in which each new project led to the next. It was here at this house that Glenda and XXX raised their 4 children.
Even though Glenda enjoyed being a homemaker, she also worked outside the home, serving 29 years as a librarian at the Boundary County Library. Her work at the library always provided entertaining stories of people she would meet there. She also developed many lasting friendships with her co-workers. Even after she retired you could catch her volunteering, just because she enjoyed being there.
One of Glenda`s greatest passions was singing. She sang in high school choir and continued singing in her church choir at Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a member for over 50 years. Another group she sang in was Wild Mountain Thyme which gave her opportunities for oversea travels and being under the directorship of renowned musicians such as Bobby McFerren. She was also a member of the Bonners Ferry Community Choir, never missing a Christmas performance in 40 years. Additional pursuits included reading, enjoying her pets, and watching Star Trek with family.
Glenda had also enjoyed being part of the community theater, doing parts large or small and especially participating in musicals. She also shared her voice by singing at many funerals and weddings. Sherri passed away also. She was married to my cousin Doyle who she divorce and Doyle passed away first. Both of them remarried before they passed on. Sherri remarried Murphy step cousin... Sharon (Sherri) Anne (West) Miller, age 66 passed away peacefully on Friday morning, Nov 29th. Sherri was born December 8th, 1946 in Spokane, Washington to XXX and Mary Lee West. She attended primary school in Colbert, WA and Priest River, ID. She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1965. Sherri is survived by her husband, XXX, brothers XXX and XXX, her 3 children, XXX, XXX, and XXX as well as 2 step children, XXX and XXX. Sherri has 7 grandchildren whom she adored as well as her precious nieces and nephews.
Sherri worked for many years as a waitress, most notably at Chic-n-chop Restaurant, as well as the mail carrier for Naples. In later years she worked for the Boundary County School District as Study Hall Monitor at the middle school level in addition to various aide positions, her favorite being at Riverside HS. She loved working with the kids and watching them progress into fine, young adults.
In her leisure time, Sherri enjoyed crocheting, gardening, baking, horseback riding, hiking, camping, fishing, bowling, riding roller coasters, and anything that involved her grandkids. One of Sherri’s last projects was to finish two beautiful afghans for individuals at the Cancer Center in Renton, WA where she they took such good care of her during her many chemo treatments.
Sherri was a kid at heart! She never missed a chance to ride the roller coasters at Silverwood with her “kids” from the schools or her grandkids! She will be remembered for her fun side as well as for the courage she showed during her long, 12 year battle with cancer. She was mom to so many more than just the three kids she gave birth to which she was reminded of in her final weeks with us here in this world. Her list of friends and family extends beyond any list we can create, but you all know who you are and how she loved you. We all have peace in knowing that she is with Jesus waiting for us to join her.
The memorial service for Sherri, will be held at the Mountain Springs Church in Bonners Ferry, Id on Saturday, Dec 7th at 2PM. There will also be a luncheon following at the Free Methodist Church.

Not To Much Done But A Little

I had plan to make some cookies. To fine out all the ingredients I needed wasn't here. Simple I'll make them later.
I believe I told that Murphy Aunt move down to Hayden Lake. Because of local airport issue. So we bought a few items from them before they move.
One thing I got was a gas range for $75. Yesterday I got it install for a $20 donation. One of Sawyer friend came over a did it.
I like cooking on gas better then electrical range. There one more charge we had to get some parts like pipe and fitting which didn't even come to nine dollars.

Total clueless how one consume so much crap. Right now I'm going though the basement pantry. Actual it wasn't all that long since Murphy and I went though it. It more disorganize then anything else.
But found a few things I toss in garbage or off to one of the thrift stores.
I start to put my pint canning jar on the floor in the basement pantry under the shelves. Then the quarts can go out to the barn/shed.

I toss plenty on my dresser in our bedroom. Clean that off and under it. 2 sack full head out the door to local thrift store. One is now ready which will be drop off tomorrow after work.

I got the butterfly and the two other bugs done on pillowcases which I been embroidering. I'm thinking I only need to finish up two more ornament and I'll have enough for this year.
