Murphy and I decided we wasn’t going to let cabin fever take hold of us and we were going to get out and bout .
Well Saturday we went to a little bakery they built up by the three mile. Well I keep here how great this place was.
As most things when people rave how great it is.
To me they over stated about everything.
We both had a cup of coffee and a doughnut with caramel icing which was ok but nothing great.
I figure what they had in there displayed case it what they had baked up but I seen other people with big juicy cinnamon rolls.
I have to say there plain coffee was nicely flavored but I prefer my coffee warmer.
I see this place having great opportunity being a friendly coffee shop but there some minor bugs to be worked out
So on the way down we stop in at Faith Murphy sister.
She was doing a 500-piece puzzle and I help here put in a few pieces.
I didn’t inherit the puzzle putting together gene.
My mom and her family sure enjoy doing puzzles.
This one had scalped edge on it first time I seen one like that
Yesterday we were planning to go the gardenia center for there Sunday services.
But of course it snowed and Murphy decided the 2 out building needed the roof shovel.
I was sure what to do with my disappointment that the plans didn’t work out.
I’m a planner and over the years I learn to make plan A and plan B. If one don’t come about then I have anther one to fall back on.
There been time I slide into a ditch and abandon my plans.
Confession time…I was almost there
I real can’t say I did much.
Then we were going to come up on Katka to see our friends Earl and Quenella. But Earl had some type of stomach bug.
So that was out.
The picture about is from there gardens and they hope to host weddings
We went to wall mart in Sandpoint to get a few items and go for a drive. I return Donna sifter vac.
Plus I need a few items for the home.
Toilet paper and I use to get a 12 pack of Scotts toilet paper for right around $7.00 and now it $9.00.
I need 4 double batteries which was $3.50 a pack.
Plus I got a package of vinyl covers to keep the sheets of my blog I been copying. Which was less then $4.00.
I went over to the fabric area and ask the clerk if they had any embroidery patterns and they didn’t carry any patterns.
I think Ben Franklin store may have embroidery patterns in there craft department.
I even thinking LaMars here in Bonners ferry might even carry some embroidery patterns
I thought of bringing an appetizer for the pot luck at the gardenia center but the weather changed my mind.
So for dinner we are having meat loaf, and bake potatoes.
But I’ll be doing up the appetizer for dinner.
CELERY STUFFED WITH SHRIMP
1 (4 ¼ -ounce) can shrimp drained and chopped
1/3 cup of mayonnaise
¼ cup of unsweetened crushed pineapple, drained
2 teaspoon of minced fresh parsley
1 ½ teaspoon of lemon juice
1 ½ teaspoon of finely chopped onions
Dash of hot sause.
8 (8 inch) celery.
Combine all ingredients except celery: chill.
Cut celery crosswise into 2 inch pieces. Stuff mixture into celery sticks.
Yield about 32 appetizer (about 13 calories with reduced fat mayonnaise)
Note time..make sure every thing is drain well
It's always great to get out and about. I get cabin fever after about two days. We have one more snow storm to suffer through and then they are promising a warm chinook. Then we will have to worry where all the runnoff is going to go. The news showed Portland and what they were dealing with - we got 5 times the amount of snow then they did.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Monday.
Have a great week ahead. Hope that you had a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLots of love, Jess
Hi Peppylady. That donut sure looks good, sorry to hear it didn't taste so good. That shrimp/celery recipe sure sounds good... and easy enough to make that even I could manage it, though I am fairly 'kitchen illiterate', lol.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful Christmas season. Happy 2009!!
It sounds like you managed to stay busy. I wish I had seen that recipe for the celery with shrimp earlier, I had some left over from yesterday but ate them in a salad for lunch..The celery sounds good.
