Murphy made it home form his trip with his sister Faith. I honestly thought they would of stayed longer.
Got the news about their brother Earl. He is in wheel chair with quite a few issues. Found out he has a care giver that comes in only 2 hours a week. I worked in the field. And 2 hours isn't enough time as what I'm being told about Earl. There is program out there to help out people, but to figure the maze. An CASE MANGER.
Murphy mention the tree seem stunt, and town of Rock Spring is about 6,000 feet. High desert.
Went out to Greta, and did some art. Today theme was black and white thinking. Also Nadia came. To me black and white thinking is not willing to bend. I complain about narrow minded people. Like most of us, I need to sweep my porch a little more often.
We talked about other things we want to in our art journals. And possible other place we want to do art at. Greta had information about, The Riverside Plaza and Event Center. I was going to share the link, but it has issues. But it was a car lot here in Bonners Ferry. So plenty of room and looks quite bright. Great talked to them about doing art there. Sound like they have no issue about us coming in. I don't mind driving to Greta. But in winter could be a different story.
After art I stop and got some ground beef that was on sale, $3,68 a pound. Got two big packs which each weight over 4 pounds each. And Murphy and I divide them up. Got a few other items and it came quickly up to $75.00 Murphy and I will be going to the senior center tomorrow.
Why not let see what 5 tarot cards my post is about. And why. Plus a little bit of A.I art.
1. Five of Cups — What weighs on you
The Five of Cups fits the opening especially well. Murphy came home sooner than expected, and underneath that is the news about Earl. There is disappointment, concern, and a sense of “this isn't how I hoped things would be.”
But the Five of Cups is also about noticing what remains after something disappointing happens. Earl has problems, but there are still possibilities for help. Murphy is home. You still have your art, your journals, Greta, Nadia, and tomorrow at the senior center.
So I see this card as the emotional shadow of the post—not the whole story.
2. The High Priestess — Knowing there is more underneath
This is probably my favorite card for your paragraph about Earl.
You worked in caregiving, so when you hear that someone with significant needs is receiving only two hours of care a week, something inside you immediately says, “That doesn't sound like enough.”
The High Priestess represents that quiet inner knowing. She doesn't necessarily have all the answers. She knows there is something beneath the surface that needs to be understood.
And that connects beautifully with the case-manager idea: there may be programs and resources, but somebody has to know how to navigate the maze.
It also fits your art journaling—looking beneath the obvious meaning of things.
3. Six of Pentacles — Giving and receiving help
This card almost announces itself in your writing.
You are talking about a person who needs assistance, a caregiver providing limited assistance, programs that might provide more assistance, and the difficulty of finding those resources.
Then your day moves into very ordinary forms of exchange: buying food, dividing the ground beef between you and Murphy, going to the senior center.
The Six of Pentacles asks a simple question:
How does help actually move from one person to another?
And I think that is one of the quiet themes of your post.
4. The Star — Your art as a source of renewal
Then the post changes completely when you go to Greta.
You are making art. Nadia comes. You're talking about art journals and finding another place to create. Suddenly there is possibility again.
That's very Star energy.
The Star isn't necessarily everything is wonderful now. It's more like finding a little light after you've been thinking about difficult things.
I especially like it because your discussion of black-and-white thinking is almost the opposite of the Star. The Star opens things up. It says there can be more than two possibilities.
And that seems connected to your comment:
“I complain about narrow minded people. Like most of us, I need to sweep my porch a little more often.”
That is a very Star-like moment of humility and openness.
5. Eight of Wands — Things beginning to move
Finally, the Eight of Wands fits the end of the post.
Murphy's trip is finished. You hear about Earl. You go to art. A possible new art location appears. You talk to the people there. You go shopping. You divide up the meat. Tomorrow you're going to the senior center.
There is movement everywhere.
Even the Riverside Plaza possibility is an Eight of Wands moment: “Maybe we could do our art here.”
Nothing is settled yet, but something has been set in motion.
The five cards together
Five of Cups → High Priestess → Six of Pentacles → Star → Eight of Wands
To me, that tells the story of your post better than any single card:
Something troubling enters your day.
You
sense there is more to understand.
You start thinking about how
help can be given and received.
You turn toward creativity and
possibility.
Then life begins moving again.
And there's an interesting connection between your black-and-white thinking exercise and these five cards. None of them really lives in a simple either/or world. Even the Five of Cups has standing cups behind it. The High Priestess sits between two pillars. The Six of Pentacles is about balance. The Star pours water into two places. And the Eight of Wands is movement rather than a fixed destination.
So your post may actually be about learning to see the middle ground—even though you didn't set out to write about that.
