Today Is Wednesday, November 6, 2024: This Is What Happened.

Dumbfounded. I just don't understand what people see in Trump. Let me share briefly how my county voted. 80% voted for Trump, and 16% voted for Harris here, which doesn't surprise me. None of the Democrats got elected here. A few Rhino made, and they will be going to our state capital in 2025. RHINO stands for Republican In Name Only. I voted for two Rhinos. If a candidate has a D after your name. Here in Idaho, you have No chance of making it.

Then, we had both a Maintenance and Operation levy for our public school district and a bond levy to build a new grade school. Both got voted down.

We also voted for one proposition to get rid of close primaries and another to change the Idaho Constitution to not let illegal aliens vote in Idaho elections. The change in the constitution was just a waste of ink. Illegal aliens can't vote. The other part of Proposition 1 also had RANK CHOICE VOTING. I think that might have something to do with the failure of Proposition One.

I consider myself an independent voter. But I lean liberal and or progressive.

Today's art is by VINCENT VAN GOGH. I believe we all know who Van Gogh's work is. Here is a link to more of his ART

I went to my watercolor class, which I didn't finish, and then I went to have pork chops with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and beets.

  2. You sound like a very well-informed voter, Dora! It's a tough day in the USA for progressive people.

  4. I'm gutted today. Saw someone in a truck with a huge flag, and I couldn't resist shouting out expletives at them. Sigh.

  5. I’m from NY. The state went for Harris, we reelected Gillebrand to the Senate, and we passed an amendment to our state constitution to protect abortion rights and other personal liberties.

On Long island we flipped a congressional district from red to blue, so we now have two Republicans and two Democrats. So there’s some good news.

  7. I'm shocked, truly shocked that the people would elect a criminal who has threatened to punish people who go against him, which may be why they voted for him.....

  9. Since the nation is divided in half with no chance of growing closer, you may have to leave Idaho.

  10. One of my greatest thrills, artistically, was seeing Van Gogh’s Starry Night in a museum. Love his work!

  11. I live in a blue state but a very red county. It's the same here, no one with a D after their name stands a chance, but statewide they do. That said, I was surprised how well Trump did here. He didn't win but he got a lot of votes. People have gone mad.

  12. I think the election results were a shock to a lot of people. Where I live in New York State seems to be a strange blend . We’ve been restricted the last two elections but our Congressperson has flipped from red to blue. In two years it may flip back again. Alana ramblinwitham. blogspot.com

  13. I'm still just numb. I feel like I failed my granddaughters. I'm absolutely shattered that half - HALF - of our country is this hateful.

  14. I was shocked. We kept hearing how it was a close race. Obviously people thought they didn’t need to vote for Harris and that’s why she lost.
Pork chops sounds lovely. I hope you at least enjoyed your meal.

  15. "Then, we had both a Maintenance and Operation levy for our public school district and a bond levy to build a new grade school. Both got voted down". Idaho ranks 18th in Education. I'm surprisedconsidering how Republican it is.
