Today Is Saturday, July 1, 2023 :This Is What Happened.

Generally picking up today. Set the timer for a set minute. And start picking up. We sure have enough clutter around. It is something I talked to my therapist about. Later on, I will set the timer.

Not impressed at all with this last week's ruling of the supreme court. Taking away people's general right to choose. Then also, we could act on our bigotry and prejudices. It could run into some significant issues down the road. I find it scary.

In today's age, we may not have a change on our high court for a while. JURIST CLARENCE THOMAS is the oldest. JURIST AMY CONEY BARRETT is the youngest. It is a strong possibility our court won't change for a while. Here is a link to SUPREME COURT RULING.

Let me share some of my thoughts. The cost of having an education is outrageous. And we didn't have money to send our sons to college. I have wondered why they can't have some sliding scale or percentage after college.

Then there was the affirmative action case. Opinion time... Our prejudices move from one to another. Everyone would have a different idea of what diversity is. Here is my country. (county)home

My county doesn't have much in the line of diversity. As you can see, most of us all white.

I know most of my readers I have mentioned the ultra-conservative political leaning in Idaho, mostly in the Northern part, in the last ten years or so. There have been quite a few Californium moving up here. They want to get away from the socialist commies California government. Before that, our area was in the middle of the road. It didn't matter what political party one was. People choose who they thought was the best candidate.

The following case is the undone hardship case, Groff vs. Dejoy. It is about a postal worker working on Sunday. I know they move mail on Sunday. But I wonder why this is. I wouldn't have any issue not moving mail on either Saturday or Sunday. Which I would toss in delivering personal mail. But being a pagan, if I asked an employer to have any of the PAGAN HOLIDAY Off. I could be fired as a devil worshiper.

The last case I like to give my thoughts on is the website designer in Colorado. This person claims to be an artist. An artist is to do a piece of art. Once the art is out there. The artist doesn't have any clue how someone might react to it.

This person says she won't design a wedding web page for the same couple. Question time...Do you think this will bring her ultra-conservative Christian to her? I have to wonder.

Confession time...If the tide was turned to an ultra-conservative Christian. I wish they would go someplace else.

Plus heard she actually still needs to design wedding web pages.

Straightforward looks like our progress and growth are going backward. I will keep being an activist. I might be less well-known. But I will keep going.

Been doing some family history research. I love some of these photos of my great-granduncle Abraham. He was born in Colombia County, Pennsylvania. Back in 1835. Died in 1885 in Asotin County, Washington. I wonder if he was one the first ones out, west from the mid-west. My grandparents McCalmant came to Idaho in 1937. His first wife was Rosa Davis, and they were married in 1860, and she died in 1899. They had six children, three boys, and three girls. But it looks like he remarried a lady named Alice. I'd like to know about the 1910 census listing him as divorced. Then, in 1920, which would have been the last census he listed in. He is listed as a widow.

Today's photo is of Abraham McCalmant and his kin.

I have been reading about Ben Franklin, and most of my family had already settled in the United States. I wonder if they passed Ben Franklin on the street or had a beer with him.

Last photo is a photo of Abe first wife, Rosa.

OKLAHOMA is my next pick for a singer or band. Which is WOODY GUTHERIE, who is from Oklahoma. The song I choose is TEAR THE FACTS DOWN. And LYRICS.

  3. You are fortunate to have these really old photos.
It seems nothing can be done about the Supreme Court rulings.

  8. I don't like what the extremist Christians and conservatives get up to, as long as they keep it to themselves . No politicians or judges in Robes should be able to forbid us to make our own decisions. Valerie

  9. I'm sorry my statesmen have been moving out your way and making things worse. I don't know why they think it's so bad here. It isn't.

  13. The whole country is going crazy. I attended my 50th high school reunion and part of it was the July 4th parade. There is a group of clowns there that strutted around in body armor and had AR15 rifles for "security" because they were afraid Antifa was showing up. This group also had their own armored car.

  14. Everything on the far right gives me the creeps, and scares me beyond words. One wonders how an educated society can be so backward thinking. Love your old photo's and wish luck with your research.

I think it's long past time to not have live appointments for The Court. We need to change several things in the way our government works, IMHO

  15. We seem to be stuck, with a Congress that is totally stalled out, people who want it that way, and a populace that lives in fear. It's like our citizens live on two different planet Earths that blame each other for their ills. The possibility of a civil war is real, I believe, and it will make the one in 1861-65 look like a minor skirmish if it happens. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com

  17. There are a lot of conservative people and the scary part for me is how conservative they are. I'm OK with them having their views, but I don't like how they feel they have the only right view and everyone is supposed to be like them.
