Last evening I went “Book Talk” at Pearl. They were 7 of us there. Someone mention the variety of books and things I'm interested in. Brought my current read RESERVATION BLUES. And the two other book I brought was about DATING FABRIC.
Part of conversation was about biographies on different Authors and after we read author personal life. And how we might view there writings. One books for me is LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE and after I read about LAURA INGALLS WILDER. Statement time...What a phony and one of the genre I would give the writing is gag.
When I look at fabric during The Victorian and Edwardian era, which runs from 1837 til 1910. Most of items I seen in this period was usually done in solid fabric, except wall paper.
Got some more fabric cut in strips and here is possible quilt block.
It feel weird taking off Thursday and Friday, so I can take Regis down to Sandpoint, to ghost event. It at library down there. I couldn't see our town having something like that. Well we have tarot and tea. I didn't go to the last one, and I will be in Oregon this month. So I miss two of them.
Start to rain early this after noon. It been quite smoky well over a month. So this morning around 10 I put on my mask and finish getting summer items out of the yard. I could look at weather report and see how long this rain will last. I just want smoke to settle.
Not sure what going to happen to my hours with Liz. See here in Idaho if anyone get state service and don't use them in 30 days, they loose them. Well once it was establish that we were in a pandemic. Remember Covid. Those rules was eliminate. Well I call up my supervisor and said she going to be gone for a couple of month, to after Christmas. I talk to her and told her I thought it would be good for her to stay though Thanksgiving. I figure November would not be easy for her. She lost both of her son a year part and being with her daughter and her family would be good, in so many ways.
But my supervisor wasn't sure of rules between Medicaid and her other insurance that mange her care. What really going on. That insurance can quite confusing at times.

I read all the Little House books when I was a kid. To find out the truth was a bit disillusioning.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was controversy on the Little House author.
ReplyDelete...fabric certainly has changed over the years, both the material and the designs and color.
ReplyDeleteYou might not have to cut back your hours after all.
ReplyDeleteFor a quilt, I prefer a mixture of colours. Hope the rain will help clean the air.
ReplyDeleteI like your quilt block. I remember the Little House on the Prairie books and TV show, I loved both, but I was younger then and didn't read about Laura Ingalls Wilder until much later. I was disappointed then, but still remember enjoying the books.
ReplyDeleteBook talk sounds enjoyable!
ReplyDeleteI loved the little house books. I don’t know what the truth is. I might have to research. But then again maybe it’s better if I don’t and I can continue to love them
ReplyDeleteI have " LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE" as DVD collection - twice.
ReplyDeleteNiece hates learning English and I hoped this would encourage her. But by the time she´ll be ready she´ll be too old... just into boys (or girls, who knows).
Wilder went from being heart warming to a pariah in no time flat.
ReplyDeleteIn my family on the South Dakota side, there is a lot more sympathy for the Native Americans who were displaced so pioneers like my ancestors could take their land.
