Took Regis down to Sandpoint Library. He got a bunch of dvds. I got 2 dvds..Attack of the 50 foot woman and the other “Heritage” Civilization and the Jews. Complete 2 different genre. Stop at the good will and got some books, they sell there paper back for .99¢ although I don't recall price of hard back.
SYLVIA BROWNE...INSIGHT I will be giving this to Liz.
But I'm not sure when I will start any of these books.
Our library is making news in the UK and NBC. I would bet even odds not in my favor, most of these people haven't step in our library. The last day of August we will have a morning read in. Than 3 in September. The only thing I know I want to hold two during ban book week, which is September 18 to 24.
Can't find my embroidery bag. I had plan to do some stitches during the news. Starting to think I left it at Liz. But after FINDING YOUR ROOTS I will look for it again.
Anther average Genome Link on CHILDHOOD INTELLIGENCE but I wonder if my up bring was different if things would be different. When I went to school and they figure a third of the class...smart, average, and dumb. So if the slower kids or assigned to that group did well on test or something. They figure the teacher didn't make a fair test.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Wow, banning books, burning books, back to the dark edges, close off the mind to anything new or controversial or outside your religious weird control freak beliefy mind.
ReplyDeleteBanning books is so wrong! I think upbringing might have a bit to do with it, but not much. If a child is very smart and wants to learn, then he or she will do so no matter what goes on at home. I am not super smart, just about average or a but above that, but I wasn't encouraged to learn at home, my dad always told me homework wasn't necessary and that I would be leaving school as soon as I was old enough, so at school I didn't really try all that hard. I think if I had tried, I would have done much better and if I stayed at school even to finish high school, I could have got better jobs.
ReplyDeleteWe read books but now most of the younger generation have no time for books.
ReplyDeleteOur granddaughters love to read at bedtime for a bit. A gift card for the book store is a gift they love.
ReplyDeleteThe books sound good.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a successful trip. Too bad libraries feel the need to control what readers will read.
ReplyDeleteThat is so good that there is massive publicity. It is quite funny in a way that books are being banned that aren't actually in the library. Just in case, eh.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, very sad about the librarian leaving. Good on her for making a moral stand.
DeleteI remember Sylvia Brown. Should be an interesting book.
ReplyDeleteRead more banned books
ReplyDeleteBanning books...!
ReplyDeleteWe had the same dumb system at school.
