Doing in home care with medicaid some time can be a strain on the old brain. And Carrie leaving. I knew my check this time around would be on the low side.
But I didn't think it would be this low.
I've meant quite a few people, 3 days or less after getting paid there flat broke.
As any young person first out on there own in the world. I pretty much blew my money right after pay day. My bills were always paid.
But in day of drag racing and cruise I ended up with stack of tickets.
One day I went in to the local court house and paid all of my fines. Can't recall exactly what I had but I would guess $20 and bus pass. Came out of the court house and had two flat tires. Knowing I couldn't afford to even fix one.
Call my mom to see if she could help me.
Her answer was quite simple...I didn't get those tickets and you burned your ass, so sit on the blisters" So no money was coming my way.
For a little while I basic live on beans and rice.
My mom actual did me a favor.
So now I still keep the bills paid and up to date. But I sure keep some back just in case of what every might come by.
So today Liz and I went to a yard sale and to the thrift store. I was going to use my mileage check to have a little fun looking for used items.
Since my check was lower then I thought. I figure $10.00 for the yard sale and thrift places. But only found $5.00 worth of items. Sad thing I found a couple of items not quite $20.00 but I had to leave them.
Next Tuesday when I take Liz to Courd'Alene I want to swing in to Ceramic Galore and try to find me some type of yard statue to do up. That would fit into my smaller kiln.
The fact is I'm going to have wear my big girl panties and skip purchasing anything there this up coming trip
Took a little tip to do some weeding in what I call "Good Will" flower bed. Actual this is the newest flower bed and the colors I'm doing it in. Is red, white, and blue.
Still planning to pick up a few petunia and possible a few violets to be place in there this year.
Murphy rototiller part of the veggie garden.
Since I don't have a sewing machine and waiting to get more garbage to haul to the dump, so my broken sewing machine can also head to the dump.
But in mean time as I figure what I want in sewing machine that is under $250
As for my rag rug I been working on. I could start cutting my gold fabric.
As Murphy was watching Superman and Batman. I went into my craft room and painted on my ceramic mask.
As I was painting I was listening to story on CD, JANE AUSTEN PRIDE AND PREJUDICE . Well I want Murphy thoughts on what he thought of hanging the mask to front of the house, next to the front door.
He liked the ideal.
Saga of Having Coffee with Peppy lady is adding a new family member Miss Emilia May. My Grand daughter. Who was born Thursday the 7th of April.
But here she will be known as "Claudia" here.
Coffee is on
My mother told me about the same thing - "You made your bed." Remembering that, I guess I am a bit of a soft touch when it comes to my kids, BUT a time or two it has been, "No. Make that Hell, No!"
ReplyDeleteYes, it's best to keep some money back, you never know what will happen next.
Such a pretty baby, I imagine you are relieved that the wait is over.
Congrats on the granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of Freecycle? It's a place where people can get rid of things that are going to end up in a landfill. (Like your sewing machine. There might be someone who would take it off your hands and fix it.) It's also a place to pick up things that others are giving away for free.
It's at freecycle.org. You might have one in your neighborhood. Might be worth a look. They might have some yard statues...

Congrats on your new granddaughter. And thank you to your commenters Liz for mentioning freecycle.org. I've never used them but I've heard a lot about them. Hope it helps you. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new granddaughter Dora! She's absolutely beautiful! - I've been doing my fair share of yard saling and hitting up the thrift stores and holy cow, you really have to budget yourself at those places. I find so many cool things that if I bought them all you'd see me on the next episode of "Hoarders!" Not even kidding. It's all I can do not to buy up every piece of fabric that I see - which, I'm not gonna' lie. - I can never resist the fabric.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the birth of your grand daughter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie she is :-)
When I was young I never had a car good enough for dragging with but I suppose that saved me from getting some tickets.
ReplyDeleteEmilia May is Beautiful. Worth her weight in gold!
