Photo Hunt (Looking Down)

I wasn't sure how I was going to post this photo hunt theme this time. “Looking down” I knew what and where I want to take the photo at.
I been taking walks when the weather permits. So I been increasing my distances down this farmer field road.
So I been slowly heading west. I don't know how long it will take me to get to end of the trail.
Then to south, forest land is own by the Kootenai Indian tribe. I'm not sure how much timber property they own in the area of pleasant valley. But my grandparents McCalmant in late 1930's or early 1940's lived in some old cabin which they rented out on the Indian land.
Then to the north is a hay field which I still called “Old Fred Nystrom” place but he been dead for quite a few years.
My trustful friend Daisy goes on walk with me. Off and on it feel like I pull my left hip out of socket. My walking pace is slower.
But actual sitting bothers me more.

No ! But Thats Ok

I had things I want to do today. But it seem like it been somewhat a bumpy day. I went and help out muphette today. She had her counseling and that was it. Somehow we where about 10 minute late and general both of us don't run late.
So when I arrive home I had things I want to get done but not a need.
Murphette and I been watch the old Gothic soap opera called Dark Shadow
which started in 1966. I couldn't watch this show at my parents home. Statement time..it scared the crap out of me.
Wouldn't admitted at time when other friends would watch it and I was at there house. I was still scared shitless.
My son Bart who is 20 made the comment there bunch of bad actor.
I couldn't hook up the DVD player and had to unhook the box for the TV. In short of things I don't have either now.

I want to do more out in the garden. My left hip been giving the what for. I ended pulling some weeds in strawberries. Now there in bloom and a few fruits are sitting.

I can't find any scissors to cut grass around in my royal sunshine flowerbed. I know we have plenty of serriors.
But now we have the deep dark purple tulips in bloom and my dark yellow tulips are finishing off.
The shorter dark purple iris are in bloom now.

One of my pale blue iris or ice color short iris is starting to bloom if you look next to it star bethlehem is starting to bloom.
On the other end of hodge podge flower bed the lilly of the valley is starting to show color.

Yesterday we had a down pour of rain but right under the front window things don't get water because of eves of the house.

I have trouble staying in one position for any length of time. So I have to change position so I do odds and ends around the place.
Plus my knee and my back is giving me trouble but not like my left hip is.

Photo Hunt (Cluttered)

Cluttered is a problem for me. I been trying to get this room un-cluttered. I make head way and someone comes in and toss something in to this room.
Confession time...including my self.
I would like to make this into an office/craft room.
But I need to get it un-cluttered first before I do anything else.
I could swear this room has a giant magnet.
The box that said “blue bird” went to one of local thrift store. I've only made small progress but still it progress.

Photo Hunt (Missing/Missed)

I didn't think I was going to come up with this week theme for the photo hunt, missed/missing. Actual it didn't take long.
Last Sunday was mothers day and I didn't think I was going to get anything. In years past when our sons was at home and quite little.
I couldn't get their dad Murphy to take them shopping for mothers day. His reasoning was “Your not my mom”
I would come back and say “I'm Sawyer and Bart Mom” but it wouldn't sink into my hubby head.
Actual there was quite a few Mothers day I felt “hurt”. Mostly when I seen others get mothers day presents.
During Mother day here there is “Mud Bog” and my oldest usual goes to it.
Earlier that day LaWalla, Murphy, and I went wild crafting for morels and fiddle heads. Statement time...All lot of things are late this year. The weather been strange.
So Sawyer stop in washed his jeep off and he left me a nice bouquet of roses.
Later on that day my youngest son called to wish me a happy mothers day.
The other day when my other client had her Monday counseling and doctor appointments. I took opal over to the doggie/ball park and did a short walk.
I use to take Rex over and he and I always had a good time.
I do actual miss Rex and our walks together.

Opal is winner dog. The ones with short little legs. So it was our first time there. First thing going down the road to the river was a pair of raven walking. I could swear they where deep into conversation.
I notice our friendly geese came back. That not being honest I shouldn't use the word “friendly”. There nesting right now.
But with opal little leg we don't cover much ground.
It was good to take little opal down to the park.

I'm actual surprise on all the things I would actual miss. A lot of small things my flowers. My yellow tulips are starting to open.
This week the hummingbirds came back.
I could go on and on all the things, and people I would miss. But there only so much space.

Photo Hunt (digital)

I don't know why I had a little trouble with this hunt. This week hunt is digital. Actual if one thinks about it digital been around for while. Our cooking stove is old and it has a digital clock and oven temp reads also digital.
But my kiln aren't digital but now when one buys a kiln you have a choice of having digital control panel box.
I'm slowly starting to look into switching my kilns over to digital instead of cones sitters.
For more info on the hunt please visit our hostess TN CHICK

Statement time...I'm recovering since my life isn't being ran on adrenal. No it not smooth sailing. But I'm feeling a lot better now.
In three different areas of my life emotional, physical, and mental.
I'm eating better and getting in walks.

Now for the garden. I wish the weather and I was on better term. Murphy and I put in some artichokes 13 I believe.
Then 13 more leeks. It seems like I have a thing about 13. “Well I don't”
Put in some short rolls of swiss chard, mustard greens, and radishes”
There still that white flower blooming in hodge podge flower bed. I was going to tell you nothing more as for color. But wait there is grape hyacinth.
I notice there one daffodil with an orange center in the royal sunshine flower bed.
Tulip are still in bud.

I like to be creative when comes to food. Some even may call it wing it. “I love greens” So I got some collard greens. So what I did is made them into collard rolls like “cabbage rolls”
Note time.... I never been one for measuring things.

3 stalks of celery chopped up
yellow and red onion (I would say they where on small to medium size) chopped up.
1 leek I would guess I had a 1 cup chopped up
2 piece of garlic diced up
4 thin slice of ginger root
saute all of above as your saute add 1 ¼ pounds of ground turkey. Cook until everything is done remove slice ginger root.
Drain one can 15 oz of White Kidney beans (Cannelli)
add to meat mixture.
Add a pint of home can tomatoes
for seasoning I put a package of fajita mix
or read the ingredients and make your own.

Trim down the main steam of collard green. Place in a pan of water and cook. Drain and cool.
Also peel some potatoes so you can make mash potatoes.
Then in casserole type of dish
place the collard rolls in if you have mixture left go head and place on top of collard rolls, then place mash potatoes on top. Place in 350° oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Then take out and put on some gradate cheese until melted.

Beltane Day

Haven't posted anything on May Day. I believe it kinda of forgot Holiday. I was at that age group in school use to make May Day Baskets.
Came home and put on my parents step rang the bell and run around the corner of the house.
Plus May Day was International Workers Day
”Ok I'll be nice during this post”
I send some ole New Yorkers down to both the boys. I'm not sure it they will enjoy them or not. Plus I did a May Day goodie box up.
The box contain one pound of Red Roaster Coffee
let see then the rest I got at “Huckleberry Variety” 2 set of magnets with clips, 3 in pack. A box of bandage, and 8 small piece of candy.
Both boys are renting a room from younger couple. Not sure how they will share but that's not my concern or my headache.

Over the weekend we tried a new dish. One was a salad from Yuri
which Donna help me get one of his book. Both Murphy and I are game to try new recipes.
1 Mango cut up in too pieces
¼ cup chopped up red onion
1 avocado
mixed greens
although I didn't have any mixed greens, but I use leaf lettuce.
Statement time...I thought just the mango, red onion and the avocado combine nicely together and was very smooth tasting.

This isn't new at all but one thing both Murphy and I like doing to is adding spinach to raw ground beef before cooking.
I find using frozen spinach or cooked spinach work best for this recipe
if using frozen spinach un freeze it and drain off liquid and also do this is you are cooking your spinach I find 1 to 2 cups of fresh spinach is about the right amount for about pound and half of ground beef.
But on frozen I like to keep it about to 1 to 1 ½ cups.
Place drain spinach in a bowl with your ground beef mix well and season as you would your hamburgers.
Anther thing is I find is to have your spinach to cut into smaller pieces.
None of our trees has full leaves yet. This is closes one and I bet by next weekend (5th of May) it will be fully opened.

Let see the weather isn't what I would call gardening friendly. But we did some like planted 20 hills of red potatoes, 17 hills or viking potatoes, and 21 hills of yukon gold potatoes.
Statement time...I'm thinking I planted way to many potatoes. One roll would have been plenty. I got two rolls and space them eighteen inch a part but it would have been better at 24 inches.

I notice there a few grape hyacinth coming up in Royal Sunshine bed. Some type of small white flower in the hodge-podge flowerbed.

As for more planting in garden I put in 36 red onion and then for yellow there is 20. 19 leeks but I might want some more.
I dug up a spot to put in a white lilac bush which will be part of my patriot flower bed. This is the area where the patriot bed is going. It sure don't look like much but I believe the only real thing going to be done this year is white lilac bush.

Yesterday (April 30) was the first time I heard thunder this year.

Today Is Thursday, April 25, 2024: This Is What Happened.

I've posted my artist trading cards and put them up for trade. I'm going to take a slight break from making artist trading cards. I...
