Aunt Florence


Florence Marie McCalmant, 89 from Hayden passed away at home November 26, 2010. Florence was born in Dent, Idaho to William Kleinsmith and Katherine Schollenberg Kleinsmith.


She graduated from Weippe High School 1940. She married Ned McCalmant January 6, 1946 in Spokane, Washington. They were married 60 years he preceded her in death in 2006. She worked at Fairchild Air Force Base during World War II as a mail clerk. She lived in north Idaho all her life, the last 55 years in Hayden. She loved gardening, dancing, handcrafts, reading and travel. She traveled to Europe three times and has been to most of the United States. She was a member of the VFW and a member of the Church of God 7th Day.

Florence is survived by son XXXXXX. and XXXXXXX of Hayden, Idaho; Daughter XXXXXX and XXXXXXXX of Corvallis, Oregon; Sisters XXXXXX of Bellingham, Washington, XXXXXX and XXXXXX of Julietta, Idaho and many neices and nephews, four grandchildren, five great grand children.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday December 1, 2010 at Yates Funeral Home Hayden Chapel in Hayden, Idaho with burial to follow at Rimrock Cemetery. Yates Funeral Home Hayden Chapel has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.

    Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm pretty sure we did an exchange a few years ago and you sent a framed photo of a deer (was suppose to be a photo of your front yard). Do you remember. Funny thing, I just ran across that photo!
