Thought I would of gotten to my story a little sooner. But here on blog land, nothing late. Right? Last week our words was quite the challenge, and I couldn't come up with a story. Sometime things works out that way.
Today's words consist of LONG, MONK, NOVICE, SPIRITUAL, TIME, and or ANTS, BOY, COMPASSION, STEAM, TRAPPED.

It was summer time. I believe it was toward end of August. All and all not a super hot summer. Sometime in town of Dannebrog. They will have an scorcher of heat wave. So as most boys will some how will be bored. Kicking ant hill didn't fit their fancy. Jim one of the boys. A few years back got bit by some weird ant, and had to go to local hospital and have I.V drip. So now people are uneasy about ants.
The older folks of the town. Usually attend the community church. They called them self non-denominational. Not sure how non-denominational they were. They was quite radical. The minster would yell and scream. The members was no different. Actual they looked like bunch crazies. Laying on floor kicking and caring about. The Revered Osterwell, told his congregants to stay away from Lady Long Magical place. That strange things goes on, at her place. After one of his sermons. People stayed for coffee, and treats. One of the members said he heard that the lady who lived at magical home. Had quite a bit of compassion, and gave a lot to local charity. It been said she covered over 80% of the play ground equipment. The Preacher walked to front of and clapped his hands loudly. And spoke of this Lady Long. “Her money is tainted” The reason he was saying this she wouldn't cover the cost of steam power for this church.
So like most young people. These boys decided to check out the place. They stood in front of Lady Long place, on the sidewalk. They starred hard and long. Like they were trapped to the sidewalk, for no reason. Monk one of the boys, said “Why don't we go and knock on the door” and Jim replyed “What will we say if she answer the door” All four boys stood with blank look on there face. Chance said remember Reverend Osterwell saying about “Dark Spirits” Monk answered back “He into putting fear into every things. He actual getting worst. My dad went to the men meeting, and I over heard my dad talking to my Mom. That the minster thinks government is listen to him on his phone, My parents are even thinking of checking out some church, in next town”.
Still they want to knock on Lady Long place, and they want to know what was in her home. Soon she came out, and walked down the steps. And walked toward the maple tree, and the southwest corner of her place. She had some large flowers of dahlia and cosmos. Soon she notice the boys standing on sidewalk. She said to the boys “Hello, nice summer day” and all boys at once said “Hello” back. The boys walked over and see what she was doing. She didn't look like she came from some other galaxy. They soon start a conversation up. They figure they was safe. Since they was an fence between them. Plus they found that she had husband that is professor of Creative Writing, over at local college. Monk sister June, took and evening class from him. And he told Lady Long, that he notice his sister book “The Novice Writer” and that his sister is pupil of him.
Every so often, mostly on Saturday. The boys would go and visit with Lady long and her husband Professor Long. They travel the word and would share with the boys there travels.

ReplyDeleteGod story. I am glad the boys went to see for themselves and learned Lady Long is not the evil their preacher said she was. They will also learn a lot more about the world by listening to her and her Husband's tales of travels.
