Today Is Wednesday. May 21, 2025: This Is What Happened.

I decided to play WORDLESS WEDNESDAY
I like sardines. When I was young, every so often we’d have sardines and cheese—sandwiched between two saltine crackers. The other day, I got some in olive oil and really liked them.

Let’s see what I’ve been doing. I’ve been out mowing the lawn, but the mower ran out of gas, so I’m waiting until I can finish.
I’ve also done other household chores around the place.

On Monday, I went to the library and looked into getting Windows 11 installed. My current system won’t take it. I don’t quite understand why—and honestly, I don’t have much desire to figure it out. So I’ve started looking around for another laptop.
Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025, which means updates and services will stop. This laptop is running fine for now, so I’m thinking of seriously shopping for a new one sometime between July and September.
One of the main reasons I went to the library was to see why my laptop isn’t reading a thumb drive I have.

In the world of creativity, I went to my first live drawing session last Sunday. I didn’t quite finish the page I was working on. I also worked on some collage papers. I learned that photo paper doesn’t work well on Gel Plates—it sticks too much, tears, and leaves indentations. I didn’t know that at first, but later found out you're not supposed to use photo paper on Gel Plates. Still, it gave the plate a bit of its own personality, in a way.

Coffee is on.

  2. My husband loves sardines and has them often. They are good for you.

I have Windows 11 and I'm happy about that. I hate changing things.

I'm glad you had fun painting and it's a trial and error kind of craft.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ♥

  3. I tried to update a computer to Windows 11. Everything on the computer was fine, but it wouldn't update. No explanation. But I had to update my computer anyway, so I have a new one now. (If you shop online, try bhphoto.com. Great prices.)

  5. I am NOT a fan of sardines but glad you enjoy them. Happy to know you had a drawing lesson. I have Windows 11 so I don't have to worry for awhile.

  7. No doubt WIN10 will work for you for some time, but by all means upgrade when you can.

  8. I haven't seen a sardine tin in my family since.. oh.. 1966. But it used to be a major source of protein, and cheap as well.

  9. I don’t like sardines, but I’m glad you enjoyed.

Patti LuPone had a monologue in “Noises Off” about sardines

  10. I don't like sardines, but I do like herrings which are a similar fish I think but larger. I get the ones in tomato sauce and every time I open a can I give a bit to Lola, same with cans of tuna, she loves them.

  11. Unless using Office is essential, or other programs that only run on Windows, look at Chromebooks. I have two of them. They do web browsing, and Google Docs do pretty much everything that I need. (I also have a Mac desktop to run Office, and for the major photo archive - 100,000 images.)

  12. I like also sardines, in oil or tomatos. I combined them with salad.
I do not like this play with Windows number. There are so premeditated, from my perspective. I have also 10 and I have also to take a decision about it.😊
Happy Today and a fine week!

  13. I eat sardines too. They're so cheap and have all those omegas, more than salmon, which is unbelievably expensive. My old computer, bought refurbished off amazon, suddenly decided to update and install windows 11 on its own, which shocked me, and led to a lot of hassles and losses.

  16. Sounds like a full and interesting week! I love the nostalgic mention of sardines with cheese and crackers — such a simple but comforting snack. Your creative experiments sound fun too, even with the unexpected photo paper surprise. Good luck with the laptop search!
    All the best, Traude

    All the best Jan

  18. I ate sardines as a child. They would not appeal to me now. Tastes change, I know. There are a lot of things I would eat now that I wouldn't have touched during the time period where I liked sardines. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
