Today Is Thursday, January 2, 2025: This Is What Happened

This is the first post of 2025. I'm almost 65, and in my mind, I still have dreams and fantasies that will never become reality because of a lack of money. I even made a list. One of my lists is what I would like to buy for my friends over at FRIEND LIST. I even have some lists for myself, some non-practical and some practical. (Driving home the cows-1881-Unknown Place) Side note: I like this painting.

This morning, I woke up sore. Murphy and I have been washing the walls and ceiling. Yesterday, we did a section of the wall between the kitchen and dining area. The first time, I was sore. I could hardly roll over in bed. (News Paper boy-1869-unknown place)

Before 2024 came to a close, I went to our local library and got the book that I got through the inter-library program. Here is a book I'm reading, THE ART OF C.G JUNG. I didn't make my 2024 reading goal of 32 books. This year, my goal is to read 19 books. Here are my STATS off of good reads. (Summer Twilight-1899-Unknown Place)

This morning, I went into town and took care of a few things. Before, I meant with Qunella at Under the Sun. Stop in and take care of Liz's cat. When I got to Under the Sun, I got a cup of coffee and went to the loft. Watch people look around at all the neat little things that Under the Sun has. Christmas decorations are 40% off. Then, I stop at our local bookstore. Just looked! Before I went to the grocery store, stop at the pharmacy and talked to them about my meds. I called, and the order went to some computer. I pushed the wrong button on my phone. See if everything was on track. Then, I went over to Super One and picked up some items. The bill came to $26.29. Hamburger Helper was on sale for $1.48. (Boston Street Scene-1899-place unknown)

Today's art movement is TONALISM. Which I never heard of. Today, I will share the works of EDWARD MITCHELL BANNISTER.

  2. I don't love these paintings, but that's okay.

  3. Go to the Smithsonian Art Museum and tell them that you love Bannister's Driving Home the Cows, 1881. Explain that you have publicised the work in your blog, and deserve to hang the painting in your own loungeroom. They will understand totally :)

  4. I didn't know that Jung was also a great artist.

  5. Happy New Year Dora and Murphy too. I never bother counting how many books I read in a year, I know I read 48 off my kindle list, but I read 'real' books too, at least a dozen.

  6. I love the painting of the cattle.
Washing down walls means you are doing ok, even if causes some soreness later.
Hamburger Helper is a distant memory. My step mother used it in the 1970s. I don't really know what it is.

  7. I'm going to be 65 this year, and although being 65 doesn't bug me, going on Medicare does. Isn't that what old people do? Grin.

  12. But what dreams can you accomplish? Perhaps there are some things you can do.

  13. Happy New Year, Dora! I'm also doing the GoodReads Challenge. My goal is 100 books. I've never reached my goal but this year I am! You will too, Dora! Keep an eye on those dreams. You never know what the Universe has in store for you.
