I been doing a count down to my part time work. As of January 3 2022. I plan to start reducing my hours. My main reason doing it this way. Is to give a chance for those I take care of to find a care giver. They both deserve someone who actually cares.
So this is how I plan to go about it. January 2 or 3rd I will call company and tell them they have a year to find my replacement. And also tell them I will be reducing my hours though out year. I will also call both of social worker and therapist to let what going on.
From months of January, February, and March. I will be taking Wednesday off, instead of my full 32 hours a week I will be down to 20 hours a week. I don't think they will be yet taking much action on it.
Than the months of April, May, and June. I will be adding Fridays to a day off. So I will be down to 16 hours in.
In heat of summer I will be adding Mondays off. So that the months of July, August, and September. My hours will be reduce down to 12 hours a week.
Than if no one is found I will be only working on Thursday. Which will be 8 hours.
If I told the company I was going to retire and left it open. I know darn well there a good chance if I called up and said I'm going to retire in with in year. Who knows if there going to look for my replacement. With my hours being reduce they will be loosing there profit.
But I will tell both of my clients if they find someone fairly quickly. Take them and I won't be upset if you let me go. Also I will bring up with there social work and or therapist about possible looking though anther company.
Thursday I went to my first local book gathering. It one that we don't do an assign book. We had a few book group readings. The local group who had a petition going around. Isn't aloud back at super one. To many complaint I under stood quite few people told them off, and went and complain to the manger and some even called corp office. Plus that Saturday their sales was down quite a bit.
Been moving along my fabrics. A few times during the week I had chance to sort, organize, and cut fabric strips for a throw quilt and crochet rag rug. I just finish my third block to Claudia quilt. It will be a sampler block With piecing, application, and embroidery block.
Today artist is NU BARRETO who is from GUINEA BISSAU.
Coffee is on and stay safe.

You are being very considerate. Hopefully the company finds someone as nice as you to take over so you can relax and enjoy your time of retirement
ReplyDeleteIt's good you have a plan to get to retirement by going part-time first.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me that you are a very caring care-giver!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your clients will have another caring person in their lives when you retire.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that a caring replacement is found.
ReplyDeleteAlways good to have a plan
ReplyDeleteWhen I retired it took them about 6 minutes to find someone to fill my spot. I am more serious about this than you might think.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a carefully thought-out plan for how to retire. The White Rabbit from "Alice in Wonderland" was always a favourite character for me!
ReplyDeletePeople complained about book club? *shakes head*
