Thought I would turn volume down to a three. Yesterday the volume was at higher volume. A lot in world is happening.
This week Regis and I stop by the local thrift store, and went over across the kootenai bridge Friday on the North side. We both found some pretty cool items. Not one thing I paid over $5. But still I should be taking more into the thrift store.
We were going to meet at FARRAGUT my sons, wives, and granddaughter. Got text from my daughter in law, who came down with covid. They made to Spokane and text postive civod. So she in her parents basement. So far none of the rest of that clan came down with covid. So for safety reason we're going to skip the gang getting together. Since Bart is taking chemo for his brain cancer. He doesn't need some other crud to battle with. He just want to once in all get rid of the cancer. I think anyone would.
I would like to meet in SISTER OREGON, go to the OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW. The mountains are beautiful in area. Do some HIKES and GALLERIES. I'm sure we could find something that would meet all of fancies.
But I under stand why Bart family complete bailed out. Better safe than sorry.
Like I said I going to keep the volume down to a three or lower. Our local library board meeting had to call off there July meeting because of safety issue. There a group who want certain books band, leaning toward sexual programing. Although I'm clueless which books. They were at the entrance of supper one with petition to remove the current library book. There claim that sexual of grooming young children. I never read any of these so called books they're talking about. And explicit material.
There worry that possible our local library might be come part of ALC and CLN
When we went to Super One the local recall board had table and getting people to sigh there petition to have current board remove. They will have to collect 1,425 register voter signature by September of this year. When we went in they didn't look like they had all that many people who so far sign.
Murphy and I gave our opinion to them...
Murphy said...”Burn those books”
Book Burner reply “ Yes, Burn those books”
Murphy answer.. “Burn Mein Kampf”
Peppy spoke up “Burn the bible”
Book Burner (In shock and surprising tone) “The bible”
On the way out.
Murphy spoke up “My grandfather died in battle of bulge, fighting book burners”
Book burner had look of deer in head light.
One lady was in the foyer just smile ear to ear.
Mow some yard, and cut some fabric strips. And start watching season three of “The Hand Maiden Tale” After book banning will the local book burner move on to art.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Book burners are always on the wrong side of history
ReplyDeleteI'm joining the lady in the foyer smiling from ear to ear. I'm happy Murphy spoke up like that.
ReplyDeleteCovid is everywhere now, we are missing a Christening tomorrow as my hubby got covid last week. Thankfully it is mild.
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteCOVID is not done with us... and I second Murphy speaking up! It is astounding that there are still those who think they have the right to censor the rest of the world... YAM xx
My Brother and SIL have... COVID :-(
ReplyDeleteI too do not like the idea of burning books
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to be free to choose
Your son is very clever to not want any other germs. Especially that covid.
He’s body is fighting a fierce enough battle as it is
My daughter in law tested positive for covid. She feels fairly good (vaxxed). She and her family went to the community pool yesterday and had a backyard cookout. Everything is normal.
ReplyDelete"Burn Mein Kampf!" "Burn the Bible!" The perfect responses! I see you got a couple of Georgette Heyer novels at the thrift store. I enjoyed reading a lot of her historical fiction romances when I was a teenager.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to have seen Murphy in action.
