Glad I got hold of my son Bart. Thought I made a decision in haste. It one of those things Ying and Yang. I guess the entire family has a case of the so called crud. I'm thankful my son, let us know. But one hand if they were planning to have the party and someone just had running nose thing. No trouble. I gone to work with the sniffles. But I do let my client know, so they can choose if they want me to come in or not. But it was little more than the sniffle. One of the granddaughter have a fever and her ears hurt, and went to sleep on couch.
So look like next weekend we will celebrate granddaughter birthday. Not sure what the plans are. But on her exact date of her birthday I will have count down number to when I go to part time, still working on retiring. If I count down every day, it would seem to drag things out.
Saw some relatives. I have two Aunts and Uncle who is in there 90's. So one side house the men talk it seems about hunting and what the Veterans administration helps with diabetic stuff. Some of my cousin were Vietnam Veterans.
But us woman sat over on the other side of house, catch up on Grandchildren. My two Aunts even has some great great grandchildren. Well one of my cousin volunteer for our local chapter of BACKPACK PROGRAM. My Aunt Hazel said, no one in house, both parents are working. The kids aren't being discipline enough. Well it more than issue than discipline. And cousin Nadia complain that people didn't want work, well I don't recall her every out in work force. Not saying being a homemaker isn't work. But the ideal of work has changed over the years. When I start working out high school was when President Reagan just became president, and he was starting to rip the middle class. So I start to wait table and with tips I average out around $8.00 and hour. Is now worth $27.55 and I don't make anything close to that. Since covid came out, one good thing that employees can have some power. Well three of my cousin who is about my age. One retire at 62. And my other 2 retire at 59 on there 401k. Those who retire at 59 is debt free and can live fairly cheep. Murphy and I are debt free. And own on house. That the main reason I can retire before 65.
I did GENOMELINK look like they add more info later. Like 10 more items next week. One of them is about “fear of pain” who isn't scared of pain. This one I don't get. Someone who like and want pain is one sick puppy. They offer a report on ones POLITICAL DNA I find it interesting. But still other things need to be taken care of first, tax and mirror. Bart couldn't find me a use mirror. Here is an short article that SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN did. But also I think other might serve me much better. Like the health ones.
Today artist is EDSON CHAGAS who is from ANGOLA

Some very interesting art pieces today. Gosh the pandemic sure has changed the way we think about a sniffle.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say "crud" do you mean covid or one of the variants or just some other highly infectious illness? With running or stuffed up noses etc, maybe they have hayfever or other Spring allergies. I am sorry to hear they all have something.
ReplyDeleteI am very wary of people with 'sniffles'! Have a great week, stay safe, Valerie

ReplyDeleteYeah - nowadays, any sniffles need to be considered potential hazard to those around one! YAM xx
How wonderful that you have so many relatives close by and can visit now. We have only lived near family for the last ten years. We missed a lot when we were raising our daughter away from family.
ReplyDeleteI would probably have been happier in the women’s group, but I suppose that I would have felt obliged to sit with the men.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone with the crud get tested for C?
Hope your family feels better soon so you can see them.
ReplyDeleteI heard they completed the entire human genome. They will make more discoveries.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the crud. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI am so sick of people saying, "But people don't want to work." No, they're refusing to remain in toxic work environments. If you're in a place where they're having trouble keeping workers, it's probably because the pay sucks and/or the management sucks. It even has a name: The Great Resignation.
I went to a restaurant a few weeks ago. We were told we’d have a 15 minute wait to be seated, but there were a lot of empty tables. The hostess told us she couldn’t use the empty tables because they were short on staff and “nobody wants to work”.
DeleteIt's best to be safe and not get sick!
