Hump day and with last few days at work, weekend can't come close enough. Actual things at work been settling down.
15 days and I'm taking off a week, well 6 days.
Regis said he had a drug hang over. With him that could mean anything. He and I went to a thrift store. I been looking for a bag or purse. Depending what area you live in. I want something that I could care phone and my camera. I found it! Plus it looks fun.
Well my son Bart is about half way though his cancer treatment. There doing a combo of chemotherapy, and it's in pill form. Also he have proton with it. He had to go to Seattle. He took his bike with him. I know once he tried to go for hike in the cascade mountains. Send him and his family good vibes. In what fashion is fine with us.
I was hoping to get a bit of walking in today. But it didn't happen. Had a cup of coffee and cookie at Under The Sun.
Not much going on. I thought I would bring up critical race theory. They're was a poll worker CHARGED giving out cards about C.R.T.
Opinion time...I think critical thinking needs to be taught in school. I never mention race, religion, sexual ordination, ethnicity, and or political ideology. In my opinion statement.
Times have change. When I was in high school there was news paper delivered to most homes. Half hour of local and national news. And some news special things, although not many.
My senior year of high school we took civics. And part of class we all had a subscription to time magazine.
But now with all this social media flying at a person, one needs to use critical thinking and make sure the info there receiving is actual.
Dinner tonight was pork chops, beet greens, and rice.
Today artist is CARROL THAYER BERRY he was from the state of MAINE
All the best to Bart the time goes quickly.
ReplyDeleteNice bag!
ReplyDeleteAll the best to your son.
I agree and wonder what my Nieces will get taught at school!
I like the bag :)
ReplyDeleteI tend to ignore most of the information thrown at me via computer because I just don't know or trust the source.
Most of my family is finished with school now, one grand daughter is in her final high school year then she goes to job training. But my new grand daughters not yet born will face far different schooling I think.
First, sending lots of prayers and positive healing vibes to your son and you. Second,I love the bag. Thrift stores are fun. Third, I can only take a teaspoon of news anymore. The majority of it is things we can't do anything about anyway. I watch enough to be aware of what's happening after that I'm done.
ReplyDeleteSendingBart best hopes and wishes for a successful treatment!

ReplyDeleteA short post, Dora, but one that offers much food for thought! I too keep Bart in prayers and admire your wee 'handbag' (I guess it might also be termed as a tote...)
Although aware of CRT, your post has had me following my nose to educate myself further on the theory and placement. I found this article to be worth the reading. It summarises the philosophy and background well and also clarifies what has prompted your post regarding schools. Such tricky ground. Unfortunately it is adults governing what is taught and there will always be biases in that very setting...
I agree with you, however - it seems that the teaching of HOW to think and applying that thinking productively is sorely missing these days! Instead we find our young folk being told WHAT to think and that will always be driven by the immediate preponderant powerbase... YAM xx
Isn't your phone and camera the same thing :).
ReplyDeleteNice bag. Glad you found what you were looking for.
ReplyDeleteCritical thinking is taught in school. It goes along with making arguments when writing essays. Whether the kiddos take the lessons in depends, I think.
There isn't a whole lot of critical thinking going on today but there is sue a lot of people critical about anything and everything.
ReplyDeleteSending love, light and prayers to Bart
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time off
Your beet greens look yum. I love them and grow lots of beetroot just so I can eat it fresh from the garden
I have a camera bag I found somewhere, but its soft and doesn't protect the camera at all, from bumps or water. Useless. I don't use my phone as a camera since the phone barely works anymore.
