It morning here in North Idaho. Last day of work before Christmas. Taking four days off. It not going to be to good on pay check. But it will help me mental and with my foot and ankle issue. Yesterday I was going up Liz step, she lives in up stair apartment. I hooked my bad foot on stairs and reinjured it. Time I got off of work I was hurting. I only got in 2 hours at each place. I see my self doing less 3 hours at each place today.
My kodak camera is having issues. The mode dial is frozen or stuck. It doesn't move. I like a manual that you can hold in your hand. Old School that way. Hopefully the book will have solution in it.
Now back to my foot briefly. My doctor is on vacation between Christmas and New Year and I will set my Christmas weekend. But than New Year weekend I'm hoping I can get same time off as I did Christmas. I need check when Regis doctor appointments is, just right after the New Year.
As I posted, about being short on funds, last couple of months. This year I decided to ask for a Christmas food box. I think a couple of times when the boys are quite little I end up asking for a Christmas box. Something I'm not proud of, actually it embarrassing. If I held my hours at work. We wouldn't be getting one. Life happens. But the food box was pretty good. Some can veggies, bag potatoes, stuffing mix, bottle of gravy, ham, and cheese cake.
Look like we're going down to Murphy sister Faith for Christmas lunch. Looks like a lease 80% is vaccinated. Plus I haven't seen any test kits in my area. So we're taking the cheese cake down. But the box will help us stretch our food budget.
We all have pipe dream and it doesn't matter the age. Question time...What is a pipe dream of yours? I liked to get a degree in art, a lease a master or doctorate. For my thesis, I like to a study on small town and or counties artists. A county under 25.000 population. Plus I would like do a table top book of photos of small towns of around the world and everything about it. The people, buildings, and scenery. Last little pipe dream I have is to write a novel, on a moneyless society.

ReplyDeleteDear Dora, I hope you get your foodbox and enjoy it and don't feel embarrassed to ask, you have paid your taxes and work hard and now you are finding things hard you are totally right to ask for a little help. I hope your foot gets better and that you can put it up and rest it. Your pictures of the snow are beautiful, I expect the reality is it's freezing cold and a slip hazard! DeleteThere's nothing stopping you from starting a book. It's just a matter of doing it a bit at a time. And you could go for your masters if you want, but that might be expensive, unfortunately. Take care of your foot.

ReplyDeleteA pipe dream of mine was to own house by the sea with a small permaculture veggie and fruit garden in the backyard. It never happened and probably never will now. I don't think I could manage such a garden now anyway.
