Explanation Please

First time using my sewing machine and still getting use to it. I finish up sewing my brown strips for the rag rug.
When thing isn't design with common sense I tend to blame it on male sex. Some how a piece of thread got broken and caught under the bobbin plate.
I was going to un-screw the back plate and pull out the thread. Sound easy enough. Question time... who would design a screw driver to long for sewing machine that you can't get to all the screws.
I did mange getting the thread out with the brush that came with the sewing machine. Plus I even learn how to take out the bobbin mechanism and put it back in.

At this point I seem to like the machine. But still got to get use to it.

Not going to bother even explain on how my hours are sit up even. But some time end and beginning of each month. I'll end up slamming in a lot of time.

After a shower our cat ziggy actual will sit in tub and lick up the water. He is a strange one. Just like the Grinch.

Coffee is on

  1. No idea why they didn't include a shorter screwdriver.
Pretty kitty, I used to have one like that. He was a nut, too.

  3. See where the screwdriver handle is right next to the lamp cover? That cover should open up away from the machine, pull it out sideways, so there will be more room for the screwdriver. Most machines come with two screwdrivers one is very tiny and perhaps that one is missing from your machine. Some people keep them handy because they fit the tiny screws in the arms of eye glasses.

I just loathe sewing machines; my mother was a whiz seamstress and none of my work ever came up to her standard. I learned to step back!!! As for Ziggy... maybe there's stardust in the drippings? ;~) YAM xx

  6. I'm not impressed with the screwdriver that came with my sewing machine. I use it pretty hard at times on thick tough materials and it gets pretty out of whack and I have to go into the guts and retime it but I have a collection of screwdrivers so that is no problem.

  7. Bobbin timing is very important on a sewing machine and most folks don't know how to retime a machine and take it to a sewing machine doctor.

  8. Is that the screwdriver that you use to change out the feet? That's the only thing I can think of. You'd think that it would be designed better.
