Oh I Wish I Could Choose My Family Members

The Three of us got the invitation ready for the McCalmant Reunion in July
It going to be once again down at pond. It hard to fine place to host up to possible 125 people. But as much as my Aunt Eve drives me nuts I can complete understand why we (Jacks Hell Raiser) don't need to put it on each year.
Let someone else do some of the work.
So we got all the invites put together. I think we counted out 40 to 50 invitation will be going .

I don't know why it is. When my Aunt Eve open her mouth she drives me nuts. I don't believe she hear what comes out of her mouth. The woman is one most arrogant person I have met. Usual people mature out of there arrogance.
That Aunt of mine could drive someone to self medicate either by getting drunk or stone.

I knew we had a reunion at SAM OWEN

I found this place called BERLIN FLATS

Shocked With Yellow and Coral

Just couldn't picture yellow and coral together. I've been using those two colors on robe that Jesus is wearing. The statue I been working on. More impress with those colors compare to last Jesus I painted, purple and a teal.
As one can see I'm fooling around with “mouse ornament holding a star” just finish up the gown in black.

Not sure what I'll be doing today. Sort of feel yuk not puke. I had plan to try to make apple fritters but I think I'm going to put them on hold.
If I had I could do them.
Later on toward this evening I'm going to Spokane Airport to pick up Hershel, his flight comes in slightly before ten thirty. He is flying in from some place around Hamilton Indiana, his brother passed away. Hope his wife is up to riding a long.

Later on I like to lay down and my friend Quenella will stop in for a short visit, after church.

Project A Galore

Last year I went though the shed/barn shelf once and got rid of broken crap. I've start to go though it and putting things in boxes to yard sale them.
Making faster headway this time around.
I was planning to have a yard sale end of March. It spring break up here and roads have ruts and our soft and gooey. Best way of saying it “mud season”

A project of our is replacing some of siding our home. As I was at work Monday morning Murphy pull of the siding.
When I got home he and I pull down the siding from the rafter in the barn/shed. Organize and stack them neatly.
Inside were the shelf our there was pile of mix type of stickers. Averaging about 3 feet in length. We organize and bundle them and stuck them up on rafters. Lease were not tripping over them. Cut down on cussing.
One of things on my bucket list is learn the crochet stitching. I learn the double crochet stitch. Confession time...I'm a long ways from doing it absent mindless.
Not long ago I got this red yarn and I'm doing a scarf in red. I'm start to think my brain that day was real back firing (Brain farts) I have plenty of red tops. I would be better with anther color.
For what I'm painting in ceramic. I recently change the sets of colors I been using. Every so often I work with a different set of colors.
I recent finish a Jesus now I'm doing anther one. I thought I would paint 3 ornaments when I'm painting figurine. I know the picture only shows two but believe me, there anther one I'm working on. A girl gnome ornament.

Weekend Photo Hunt (Focus-Technical)

It seem like we're focusing on more then one project at a time, Confession time...some time I get to many iron in the fire.
Just recently I've been focusing painting some CERAMIC BEADS

Now you can pick up package of BALLPOINT PEN   for under five bucks. When the first went on the market the sold for$12.50 EACH These pens in there days was consider high technical stuff.
It hard for us middle age people to keep up with the changes in technical world.

Next weekend photo hunt theme will be BIRD(S) and or TREE(S)

Strolling Right A Long

Been doing a lot better the last two weigh in at my T.O.P.S meeting. I've lost weight. I been doing much better with walking.

On Wednesday I been walking on south hill side of Bonners Ferry. But I take my camera a long and get a couple of photos.

I parked the pick up at the old Lutheran church (Missouri Synod) It change over the years. A few of my older first cousin got married in it. A non demoniacal. Then it was some type of business. Today it is an Presbyterian church.
It was lightly raining and just walk pass Dr Edwards home. He was a surgeon out of New York. Not sure if anyone lives in the home now.

One of my goal is to walk to the Orthdox  Church. Which is about mile from where I live. I'm at the fourth power line pole.

So the other day I took my camera and took picture looking back to the west.
Yesterday (Tuesday the 18th of March) my hip was bothering me so my walk was shorten quite a bit. But not using it isn't going to help it. In simple term the body is met to be moved.

I'm trying to keep my calorie count between 1,500 to 2,000 a day. If your wondering why I chosen to eat 1,500 to 2,000 calories a day. A person needs 10 to 15 calories a day to maintain his or her present weight.
At my present weight of 210.25 I need 2,103.25 calories to maintain. So eating 103 to 603 calorie less then what I need to maintain my weight. That way I don't get cranky.
Sure there other factors to figure in how active you are, age, sex and what takes for you to burn energy and calories.
You know those who can eat junk all day and set around...not put on pound and they loose weight.
I'm not one of them.
Not to eat anything after 7pm and if I get hungry for what every reason I eat plain popcorn...no butter or salt.
Notice the days I go to work I tend to eat more carbs.

Some days are better then others.

A Good Poke Toward Life.

Never told anyone about the Accra we bought. We thought we got a good deal of a 1997 about $2,600 plus the engine was complete over hauled.
Low mileage wish I could recall the number. Now the 3rd gear is slipping. Transmission aren't cheap to deal with.
Not sure why 3rd gear is slipping. But I know a good club beating isn't going to fix it.

My tercell has issue. Compare to the Accra a lot less pain on purse string. But there some issue like some tire for the front. Some possible front end work. Last time I drove the tercell it had a grinding sound in fourth gear (manual transmission) plus the front window should be replace although it legal) No club beating isn't going to fixed it but maybe a swift kick would do it.

I want to get out in shed and start sorting things that going “far well” like to have yard sale. Seem like life pops up and it seem like I never get to it.
Sure glad I already went though it once. Good news Murphy is agree to sale the yellow chain saw. No bar and not sure if it runs or not. If we get $5.00 to $10.00 and it out of here.
I won't need to poke it with stick either.

Been painting on some bisque. Last two things I been working on is beads. But before that I just finish up with a sking mouse.
Been doing quite a few smaller items. Once I get the smaller pieces are painted, Then I'll back wash all of them. To cover mufti of sins simple screw ups.
Move on toward a larger piece.
Once it dries up. I can put my pour table back together and start casting ceramic molds.
I sure hope I don't need to take a sharp stick and poke my pour table a bit.

I tried to double crochet. Haven't master it. Look like I'll have to do follow and u-tube instruction video . At wal-mart I bought a set of six crochet hooks. Also purchase small glue gun.
A stick sure isn't going to help one doodle on crochet.
I think I'll do a scarf once I get the hang of double crochet.

See every so often one needs to take sharp stick and poke it at life.

Weekend Photo Hunt (Animal-Delux)

We have quite a few wild animals last few days we had a heard of elk, grazing both in morning and evening.
But quite often some wild Turkeys will walk below our bird feeder, in search of a treat.

I figure it pure look to get a picture of an wild animal.

At one time the PELTON wheel was a delux piece of equipment. Is displayed in Bonners Ferry south end of town on main street, before you cross the Kooteni river.
I'm not sure if the pelton wheel was use on MOYIE OR EILEEN dam

Between The Times

When I got home from work and running some errands. In a bit I'll discuss them but before my hubby made a REUBEN
sandwich and it tasted like crap.
I actual like reuben is one of my favorite sandwich. He didn't do the dressing right I believe. I ate it. I learn not to criticize the cook.
Bad and mean bad things can happen. The word “Yuk” wouldn't never and mean never was use when I grew up.
So I learn quickly something isn't all that tasty but you better be thankful you got something to eat.
Not say I ever went hungry or anything close to it.
My mom was a great cook.

Now back to my day. My client Carrie, her husband Herschel is on his way back to Kentucky. He sure worry about leaving her.
I understand that his brother isn't doing very good.
Quite a few times they let me off work early and let me claim all of my time. So for next two weeks I'll be checking on her.
Opinion time...I think she would be all ok by her self. But she even worried about being by her self.

So tomorrow I'll stop in for a bit. I told her that I would play around of Yahtzee. Still need to fine time to take our clothes to Laundry mat.
Still haven't got the drainage problem fix yet.

After work I went to Library and use there computer. Play farmville. See I had a hair cut at 2:10. I didn't want to run home.
So I did a little bit of shopping.

Went for walk and on Wednesday or if I day has a four in it, four, fourteen and twenty-four. I try to new spot to take a walk.

Today I park at the old Assembly Of God Church parking lot. Corner of VanBurren and Cody.

Even people in town need to put up a game fence. To keep usual white tail deer out of there garden.
On the edge of the road looking over the valley. There was some oregon grapes. If one looks at them one would couldn't tell what season it is. Never change much.
This is a house were I started or ended.

My walking loop was more then ¼ mile but less then ½ mile

After my hair cut I stop by at the thrift store. Got some blank cards so I can send them out to my pen-pals.
Pick up some red yarn so I can learn to do the double crochet next. I'm going to try to make scarf next.
But I wondering why I got red. Confession time...I'm loaded down on red tops.

Three Types Of Rub A Dub Dub

Some how I can't get any of my resent photos to come off my card to the computer. I just put in spybot and malware protection device. Well in nut shell I should of chosen A but I chosen B..Wrong answer.
I want to show our drainage troubles in North Idaho.

A lot of people here when snow melts it seem like a lot people have drainage troubles. Let just there no rocks in our yard unless it was haul here. So the ground get saturated and one dealing with mud and mud. No end to it.
We been having our drains fill up and back flowing into our basement. So we have to be careful how much water we put down in drain.

So Monday I took our laundry to the laundromat, did up 3 loads of clothing. Cost $2.25 a loud. But came home and used the dryer.

Compare to what I had to deal and others with drainage issue here. It's a big improvement. The yard around the place slopped toward the place.
So Murphy and I hauled fill and re-slopped away from the house.
Statement time...I sure don't want to always dealing with drainage issues.
Until the drainage issue is fix. There no way we could every finish off the basement.
Opinion time...I think most people toss to much water down the drains and the gray water could be recycled.
I would like to use my GREY WATER to water my gardens with. The only issue I see when winter came then where would gray-water go.

Even with out a full fledged shower we kept our self clean. In this situation one can fine a way to wash up.
Spit bath. No you don't spit on your self. One wet wash wash cloth with soap and water wash down. Then take anther wet cloth wash off the soap.
Next type of bath is a sponge bath which I call a whores bath. You get bucket of water and start washing your self down.
Well the other day I took a high class whore bath. Got a bucket of water not filled, wash my body down. Even washed my hair. Then turn on shower so I could rinse off and caught the remaining water in a bucket.
Dried off and got something on and took the water and tossed it out in yard.

Expectation of blogging

Don't recall the date or times when I heard of blogging Right off this caught my attention and did my first post January 2005. I believe my first blog post was only a line or two.
But what I was worried about...Couldn't I fine something to post about. Well I haven't yet ran out of topics to post about.
See I don't live a very exciting life. I always said “my life is uneventful”

I believe the first blog I visit is gone or the gal gave up posting on it. If I'm right she lived in New Hampshire. We read each other blog for a while and she suddenly drop off face of the earth.

Blogging been a learning curve and sometime it's mighty big curve. Out side of the city limits of Bonners Ferry there isn't much choice for internet connection. Statement time...we had dial up until let say late summer of 2014.
Having dial up put a damper on what one will and wouldn't do on the computer.
Since now we got broad band the blogging opportunity has increase a great deal.
Still like to learn how to do a video.

With all these Social Net Working trying to tie everything in has all so been interesting. I know I can't hit all the Social Net Working Sites Confession time..Have no desire to either.

Since I now have a better internet connection. I'm hoping more readers see and enjoy my blog. But all I guess I would like to have more comments then what I get.

Confession..I thought they would have been more reaction with my blog.

The main reason I blog to share a little with the world. Plus I enjoy and find it “fun”

Weekend Photo Hunt (Bad Weather-Colors)

One shouldn't say North Idaho has terrible weather. But some time I would consider we have bad weather days
We don't get hurricane, tornado, or very often unforgiving heat. Once in a great while in summer day it will be above 100. It so rarely happens.
On the flip side of weather, rarely gets down to 30 below zero.
Last Sunday and Monday morning it start to snow. In 24 hours it dump over 12 inches of snow. I thought that was bad weather.

Just wait Thurs it start to melt and everything is flood and mess in our community. Now I call that bad weather. When someone is hampered because of the weather then it bad weather.

I'm not scared to rock the boat of bit. I figure things need to be shaking up a bit. When some order a ceramic mold including the ornaments. Usual it comes with color pictures. The mice is done in gray. I know mice come in other colors
Since most of my ornaments are geared toward Christmas usual people paint them what is Christmas colors, green, red. White, gold, and silver.
As you can see I don't do what I'm told or should with COLORS

Next weekend photo hunt will be Animals and or delux

One Can Fine Some Reason To Have A Celebration

Very Important and I didn't have time to plan for it. The 5th of March was National ABSINTHE day. Question time.. Did any you miss it? Sound pretty high class stuff. Personal I don't know anyone who drinks it.
The 3 main ingredients don't sound hard to get. I know you can grow anise and fennel here. Not sure about wood worm.
I just might add MAKING absinthe to my bucket list. Sound like quite a bit of work to BREW up a batch.

Before I get carried away I should just stop in at local liquor store and pick up a bottle of it.

Little less in week will be March 13. My dad was born on that day. One thing it also NATIONAL COCONUT TORTE DAY
Making a torte is on my bucket list. Question time..Do you think I'd be stepping out of line of making a torte not using coconut?
When I was young I had hand muffs and ear muffs. The 13th is ear MUFF day Opinion time I know I would of made muff day in January instead of March
If only I known on the 13th I should of gotten some Jewelry. It never to late to celebrate NATIONAL JEWELRY DAY Confession time...I have a hang up on jewelry.
POP CORN day wouldn't be anything special. Murphy and I in the evening eats plain air pop corn. No butter or salt. Maybe for that day we can add some paza.

Yesterday Murphy and I went out to the GAME REFUGE Editor Note..There wasn't hardly any snow at the game reserve.
Took a short WALK. Didn't see the owl. First part of the walk we scared up a crane. So didn't have my camera ready and it was to far.

Both Murphy and I our parents wouldn't drive us around. Let see in grade school I walk about two blocks. When we live on Cataldo rd in Spokane Valley I went to a youth group of at the berean church behind our house. I walk and there was slim chance to none that mostly my mother was going to take me to some church.
If I want to attend a religious service. I had four choice walk, ride my bike, hitch a ride, or drive my self there and I better but fuel and little extra. Or would of heard my mom make some nasty comment about bull crap of religion.
Once we move to Otis Orchard my day going to the youth group at Berean church was over.

Middle school or Jr high was about a mile walk. Weather didn't make one bit of difference.

9th grade is when we move out to Otis Orchards. Then I walk to the bus stop which was about quarter to half a mile.
I remember watching some talk show kids had there parents drive across the street. The street wasn't busy. No wonder we a bunch fatties.

This is the end of our walk about a quarter of mile. Maybe a little short of that. It was pretty windy. Your looking East as you can see the trees are still bare.

Half way back I ask Murphy to take a picture of me. “Don't have my Sunday best one” one don't need to worry about fashion.
Looking up North thought the kooteni valley.

Nice day to celebrate even with nice hot cup of coffee even a little spiked.

It Has To Be One Tough Bird

I don't know what Faith got. Yesterday I drove Faith to the dentist. “Crap the lady is 92 and still has her wisdom teeth” Mine was pulled out right before I turn 18.
Neither Murphy or I had any major dental problems. Murphy seems to get away with less dental work them me.
I guess living though the great depression would turn you into tough old bird.

Can't say I been getting anything accomplish. Wash the wall below my shelf in dinning room. This shelf has a bottle of water from the Atlantic ocean. Some one mail it to me from Maine I believe as they were holiday up there.
I meant them though blogs. Haven't heard from for ages. Maybe I should drop them line by the way of snail mail.
They actual lived in New Hampshire.

Just finish up four ornaments except for last sealer spray. Also start to crochet anther dish cloth. So I can mainly practice on my single and double half stitches.

Usual on Wednesday I try to get out and take walk in different area. So I can take some pictures. I was standing on the dentist porch looking north across the kootnai river and up North.
Didn't feel much like standing in rain.

With all the snow and rain is taking it away. Don't look much like spring which will be in 14 days. Notice Faith next to her home she has crocus popping up.

Good Ole dunking Cookies

I'm a fan of dunking my cookies in such thing is a nice hot cup of coffee or tea. Thank you and even nice cold glass of milk will do fine.
Yesterday I complete one of the item on my bucket list To make biscotti. In Italian biscotti means cookie.
This was my first time doing a twice bake cookie. That didn't bother me but the cutting direction threw me for a loop.
The first part made since  Form two logs, three inches in diameter, and place onto the baking sheets.
But after the cookies was pulled from the first around of baking...this part took me a very short time before it sank in to my head “ then remove from the oven and cut into 1 inch diagonal slices.
I would of use the term “length ways”
The last baking it say 10 minute. Instead of just 10 minutes on the other side. I turn and flip the biscotti let say every 3 to 5 minutes so each side would have a golden brown finish.
The last time in oven would have been a little longer then 10 minutes Opinion time...It came out a lot better for dunking cookie....Question time...Isn't that what a biscotti is?
Had part of bag of almonds and some mini chocolate chips and want to Incorporated then into the recipe.
Over at all recipes dot com. I did search for biscotti with almonds and c hocolate chips. I was send to a recipe called Mandelbrot.
Easy and can see lot variance in making Biscotti Next round I make will add a little dry fruit or herbs.

Weekend Photo Hunt (Boogie-Steps)

This little guy Brutus is scared of the Boogie (boggy) man. When his master leaves but I usual speak of his master as his daddy.
He sits by the door and just balls like a baby. One day his daddy had to leave early in the morning and went on job, about four in morning. Pour little Brutus crawl in bed with his mommie (master wife).and also crawled under the covers because he thought the Boogie man was going to get him

I don't know how long the Boogie man been around. I recall older kids telling me that the boogy man is out an about. Anyhow I've always thought the guy who does the “Jack and in Box” ads, would look like the Boogie man

In my neck of the woods. There is not a lot of steps. Total steps we have 38 in our home. Two set of thirteen going into our basement. One of the kitchen and the other one from outside. Then there three more steps leading to the side door, front door, and back slider.
I like older homes with big ole porches and few steps leading up to the front door. Older I get the less, I want to deal with steps.

Next weekend Photo Hunt will be Bad Weather and or Colors

Today Is Thursday, April 18, 2024: This Is What Happened

I was surprised that there weren't any letters to the Editor of the  BONNERS FERRY HERALD.  I guess they got it all out on social med...
