Techie I Just Don't Know

Been having trouble with crap on the computer. Such as malware, adware, and spy ware. I talk to the place were I get my computer worked on.
Their so busy. He became the manger at Harvest foods in Bonners Ferry.
I stop in morning and talk to his wife and she suggest I visit komando
that she has pretty reliable info. Once I got to the site and found the malware program that she recommended, malwarebytes 
At this point it looks like the malware been dissolve.
Komando also recommend this two downloads bitdefender-safego and web of trust
The entire techie stuff troubles me, being so low brow when it comes to techie world. I am very leery and being leery and should of acted, but then I get dupt

malwarebytes is a very good program, I pay for the better version of it than the free one.

i download so much crap and visit so many stupid sites that my computer has developed a very good immune system. it knows it'll end up on the trash heap if it meets a virus it can't handle.

i think my kid put on the free mcafee anti virus stuff. the free stuff is all you need.

Dora, darling, why not use a flavour of Linux and avoid these 'virus'/'malware' problems!

Steve, we are not geared for Linux here, we don't want the learning curve.

Living in small town I've never seen a Linux.
Seem to be doing a lot better since I put in malwarebytes,
