We Got What It Takes.

It seem like a lot of people are struggling do to the economy. Murphy finely went back to work sort of do to having sort of the crud. But I've said if I had the same thing his case of the crud would be lot worst them mine.
Plus the weather hasn't really been all that springy. The morning of the 26 there was a skiff of snow on the ground.
So Saturday morning I went to a one yard sale but I guess there was anther one up by the three mile with cost of fuel I skip it.

Picked up two crochet dish clothes for quarter and off to dollar store and got some fishing stuff for one of the boys Christmas Stocking.

I put up a few Spring like things around the place even outside it really don't look like spring. So far this month it only got up to 50 twice.
I had the fall wreath hanged and never but up the Christmas one.

I debated with my self to purchase beer or not. After notice that one gas station arose there price up to $3.59 a gallon. But I got the gas still at $3.49 and it cost $32 to fill up my tank.
Now I know there two days of “Do not buy gas” One is on March 31 st  and the other is on April 2nd
On April 8th  there all so a protest not to purchase any thing for big corporations.
These three event is posted on facebook.
I find it unfair that lot of big corporations doesn't pay income tax. To best of my knowledge our income tax will be on high side 34% and the low side 20%. Murphy and I took in our taxes but waiting for them to get done.

You know one will find news on the computer such as facebook. I haven't said much about my friend Alice she was one who got a habitat for humanity home.
Her daughter Jodi posted on facebook her mom quite her job. She does the same thing I do and I can complete understand why someone would want to get out of home-care or being a personal care.
Her life is a lot more stressful then mine.
Opinion time...She seem to do the same-thing over and over that cause her stress.
You know that saying “a sign of insanity is doing the same-thing and hoping for a different result”
I don't know if this is true I under stand her ex inheritance some money I sure hope she didn't quite her job because Marim got some money.
In pass when Marim receive any money it never went towards the family.
Confession time...So Sunday afternoon I went over and more less let her believe I knew nothing of her quitting her job.
But soon as she said that her client was treating her like a servant and the client had a nasty attitude . I complete understand why she quite.
But lease she recognize that she was under stess and took action.
But her daughter Jodi got up set and yelled at her.
It amazing when one child gets out on there own and how they have a total different look on life.

Photo Hunt (Cage(d)

I thought this week photo hunt theme would be somewhat difficult. But it wasn't all that hard for me to find something to do with caged(d)
We have to cage in our garden from all sort of creatures but mainly cattle, elk and deer.
These are calling cards that some White tail deer left they'll walk around the garden to see if some one left the gate open or weakness in the fence. So possible they can help them self to fresh produce. But this time of the year there nothing in garden for them to nibble on.
Just barely poking though is our rhubarb.
To find more info on photo hunt please visit our hostess TN Chick

It been a fairly cold spring so far it only once got up into the 50's and during last March of 2010 it got above 50 13 times.
But I'm check around and see whats coming up.
I know a few people who crocus started to bloom and I notice a fair amount of snow drops but at this point nothing for me.
I notice a few of my tulips where coming up in my Hodge podge flower bed. Thursday I had to go into Kootenai inn for Murphette and cash in her Canadian money for American money.
But in front of the inn. There tulip where up about 4 to 6 inch.

We have a few things started in pots for our garden season. Leeks and artichokes are doing gang busters.
Started some spinach in container this year to see if we could get mature plants out and see if this method will lessen the chance of them going to bolt.
If this work and then we can plant a crop in fall and in spring time have some fresh spinach.

Photo Hunt (License Plates)

License Plates is this week photo hunt theme. I have to say plates are cheap as I understand compare to other states.
By the end of the month. I need to get new tabs for the Toyota and it will be well under $30 dollars.
It use to be a breeze going into Canada when one had 9B plates but now it completely different story do to terrorism. Opinion time...Which I think it bunch of bull.
but gas what cost us to run our rigs. As we went into Bonners Ferry on the South end gas station it was at $3.47 a gallon. Buying plates for your rig in Idaho don't cost you any body parts.

Picky Progress Notes

There sure getting more picky on our progress notes at work. My client Murphette has something like 17 minutes of shopping a week in her care plans. On Mondays she has her Counseling appointment and if she needs to see her doctor we like to make them back to back.
When she in her appointment I run errands and shop for her.
Believe me no one know how long doctors take.
There is progress notes to be filled out and we are pose to mark things so it matches up with the care plan.
It was a Monday and I was taking Murphette to her appointments and as she is her appointment I was going to run her errands. So that Monday I went shopping and did some other errands and it took me over 17 minutes so I claim the whole time for shopping. But medicaid kicked back my notes for claiming to much time in shopping.
With the cuts in medicaid and other programs there getting more picky.
I believe she gets 26 minutes for laundry a week.
Get this. At this time Murphette has no vehicle has had one for ages in big bold letters I printed “Took Client to her counseling appointment for she has no vehicle” see it's not in care plan I'm really not aloud to make a check mark on her chart but I can take note to situation but who knows how long it going to take to get though there thick head.
So Both my medicaid clients got a week worth of care and I'm just short under $250.

Bend Over Drink

Just came up with a new drink not sure to classify it as a juice or smoothie. So for now I'm calling it a drink.
If you have a kick ass blender such as vita mix or blend tech. You could do this “Bend Over Drink” but I don't so I'll give you this recipe the way I did it.
In a juicer which you would do carrots in.
3 to 5 carrots.
1 good size sweet potato or yams
1 inch piece of beet
1 inch piece of ginger (I'm a ginger fan so I would add more)
Your left over stems ( I save mine and I had a Tupperware small round flat ends of asparagus)
Juice this together mine made a little over 1 pint of juice.
Actual this juice is tasty and if one doesn't want to go on to next step of this recipes. Please enjoy your Juice.
But if you would like a little more to this drink. Place your juice in a blender
now add
1 cucumber
4 radishes
1 ½ to ¼ inch of slice cabbage ( I had ½ head of green cabbage in the fridge so I slice some)
8 strawberries
small amount of parsley ( I would guess about a ¼ of cup)
2 good hand full of spinach.
Blend well together one may want to add water depending on how thick they may want it.

All of these ingredient is you would have to bend over and pick them.

I been increasing my activity level. I been exercising two days on and two days off. On the yuk days I been using the tread mill.
On the nice day I take a walk but Saturday Murphy and I went out I believe it was dist 5 area pass the Indian Reservation turn off, Hiked up in hill a little hoping to find something interesting.
A bit early for asparagus but I have found wild asparagus in that area. Confession time I have never found enough to put up but the most I found at one time is a mess for a least 6 people but this doesn't happen often. It depends on how much ones eats.

The three of us which would be my hubby Murphy, our friend Quenella, and I decided to visit 6 different churches in our area. Each of us will pick 2 to visit.
In a nut shell there limited to what I'm willing to drive is Boundary or Bonner County. But if a certain faith isn't offer in our area I would be willing to drive to Spokane area for two services. But I prefer to stay in the local area. The price of gas is jaw dropping at $3.30 a gallon.
So Murphy was the first to pick a church to visit.
So he picked the “Economic Church” which is holy myrrh bearing women which is about mile form our home.
I was some what shock that Murphy picked that one. I believe out of ignorance he didn't know it had twist of Catholicism. Statement time...My hubby some what holds a grudge against the Catholic Church.
I have to say there web sight sure doesn't do them justices. Statement time..It to binding not free and to dead.
But going to there service. Not sure if all there service are like this because it is lent season. It was a praise and worship service.
I have to say I was impress with the choir voices and harmony. Lot of singing and praise. Sure there where things I disagree. Opinion time...I like some ritual in things but I thought it was little heavy.
After the service they had fellowship and a pot luck dinner. During the lent season they abstain from meat. The very short sermon was on fasting.
Of course being new ones they ask what our spiritual or religious back ground Quenella and I sat the same table.
I was so glad she handle the topic. In nut shell she says it important to love God with all your heart. Can't remember everything she said. But she told them she had no desire to be come Orthodox.
I don't have any desire to join any denomination of religion.
Now would I go back. I wouldn't go to it on any regularity but I wouldn't avoid it like the plaque either.
So Quenella will pick the next service we attend. I know she mention going to a Catholic service. Thinking it was at 11 so I drove pass St Anne and Sunday Masses is at 9 Am and Saturday service I believe is at 5 in the evening.
Murphy said he wasn't because he has to many bad memories. I don't know if Murphy would be more comfortable going to St Joesph in Sandpoint then St Anne in Bonners Ferry.
But we aren't going to visit anther church until Quenella gets back form the coast.
I'm considering picking Mountain Spring and Beth Shalom.

Sorry I'm to tired to load up pictures to share on the posting. We just sprung a head and on Sunday morning I like to listen to Religion town hall meeting. Today topic was on new way of communication with our new technology.

Photo Hunt (Machine(s))

Last fall after the cattle left the field which they graze. The owners decided to go and replanted hoping a new crop would be the answer for having the grass last a little longer.
They left there disk plow out there and now it just starting to show throw the snow.
As I talk about in past blogging post I grew up on berry farm in the Spokane valley. One piece of machinery(s) I was fond of and the local neighbor kids was the cultivator which in size wasn't even close to this one.
My dad would be cultivating up and down the strawberry rolls. We would line up the Holland, LaShaws, Turner kids and me to have our turn riding on the cultivator.
In a lot of ways I believe my dad was happy for the few extra pounds that put down the cultivator. But I don't recall any of us wanting to ride on cultivator though out the entire berry patch. I think we only would ride it about two rolls and off we would go and play.

Confession time...it made me wonder what every happen to these kids. I looked on face book but I only been in contact with one of them and she isn't even on facebook or has a computer.
We where all born in late 50's or early 60's

I know It's Taken Care Of

Thankful that's what I am. Right now I'm the only one who bringing in any income to our family. But I need give a positive toot to my wonderful hubby Murphy.
When I get home from work the home is general cleaned and picked up. No it's not spotless. The laundry is done, the floors a swept or vacuumed, trash is taken care of, foods ready to eat when I get home and things are done around the place.
Statement time...I have to say are disagreement isn't over what is proper compare to most couples I read in magazines about.
Our is over organization and types of eating.
I like my socks fold a certain way fold once not rolled in ball. I don't like my socks and undies in my jean draw.
I have to say my hubby cooking isn't out of box. Nor is he a meat and potato man. He makes sure we have usual a nice meal. Tonight when I got home dinner was just being pull out oven roast beef, cabbage, and a baked potato. With root beer to drink. Once in while in life when it's over whelming and busy one needs to just pop something in oven or micro.
But if I had my way I would lean more to raw foods. I know it would be impossible for either one of us to be totally raw food.
I have no desire to cut out meat total in my diet a less amount, sure that find with me.
Knowing I'm going to be taken care of sure makes my life stress don't worry medicaid wants to mess with you mind.

Photo Hunt (Self Portrait)

Self Portrait seem like a strange pick for this week photo hunt theme. I never have or should have learn to use the self timer on my camera but haven't yet.
So I got my self in different pose as long as I could reach the snap button it was all good.
I really have to say none of these picture I thought capture but in all honesty I had fun to see what came out of the camera.
This one I got on my knees and place the camera on the floor looking up at my self and click. This is what I got.

February Weather Report

The warmest day in February was the 13th at 48.0 (8.8)
The coldest day in February was the 25th at -14.4(-25.7)
The average high for the month was 34.7 (1.5)
The average low for the month was 14.7 (-9.7)
Snow fall for the month was 25.25 (64.1)
I have to say this February sure been different then others. A least once it gets into the 50 but not this February. Let see it only got into the 40's only 6 times.
Now for the snowfall we sure had a lot for the month I don't know if it is a record amount or not.
I was comparing this February to last.
There was 7.2 degree cooler on the average high this year.
Then there was the average low and the difference between 9.1 degrees.
All in all it looks like this February was 8 degree cooler then last.

We started our leeks and artichokes but if ones looks outside there nothing but white as far as one can see.
For a short time I notice in the hodgepodge flowerbed there was a few bulbs that was showing though the layer of dirt.
I guess my Aunt Bea's tulips was up a good 3 inches.
I have to state that mine sure wasn't that far a long. As for what exactly I have in my hodgepodge flowerbed is what I got for free and at yard sales.

This was Murphy and mine first rummage sale of 2011 we went to the United Methodist. We didn't buy anything.
So we stop at the thrift store which was the old co-op and I got 2 birthday cards and 2 notebook binder.
Murphy got a fishing pole for $2.00

Today Is Wednesday, April 24, 2024: This Is What Happened.

I give this door up to two years. Murphy and I so, called, put a band-aid on it. It is an off-size door between a linen and an interior d...
