Photo Hunt (Standing)

standing
is this week theme for photo hunt. I didn't put much time into this hunt. Once our boys Sawyer and Bart showed up Monday for a visit.
They where sitting at dinning room table and thought I'll take a picture of there legs.
One thing I knew the odds was they where going to move out right out of high school and we want them to be responsible people.
The best way is to teach them responsible, consideration for others, work ethic, honesty, compromising, making choices, thinking for there self, and how to stand on there own two feet.
I don't believe in fact I know I didn't do December weather report of last year. Sorry no photo op.
The warmest day was the 13th it was 46.8 (8.2)
The coldest day was the 30th it was -9.6 (-23.1)
The average high for the month was 35.5 (1.9)
The average low for the month was 17.7 (7.9)
Snow fall for the month was 9.75 (24.7)

SomeThing Is Brewing

I been starting or going back to do some changes. I been working on more raw diet. So slowly I been changing and getting back into more healthier life style.
One thing I'm still in the process of doing is majorly cutting back on caffeine drinks. Confession time..coffee is my weakness. So every week my cut off time is a half hour. I'm up to 11 in morning so anytime after 11 Am I don't have caffeine. So starting Monday the 31st of January my cut off time will be 10:30 AM.
As I'm drinking less caffeine and still I don't get enough water.
I have plans to do a “push” I'm planning to go to Super One on Thursday the 3rd of February and get some fresh veggies and hopeful fresh fruits and push them in my body so I can flush out the toxin and not the good nutrition I already have.        spitlina
in powder form is something I want to add for a while as I increase my raw.
I know one thing I can see could be a problem eating raw is time management which I need to work on
So this raw eating will work..
One thing I'm gathering up some raw recipes and putting them in notebook binder which most of them comes from the thrift store.
Knowing my hubby he wouldn't get anything out of a document file or if I gave him a print out recipe and gave him an order and ask him to fix this the odds I wouldn't get.
But if I put in some in note book and say to him “Gee I would like something raw in fruit line” my odds would increase I would get something raw.

At work the other day I made a smoothie. Murphette who doesn't eat all that well I see some changes in her diet. But I'm too doing some changes.
I know on the raw dairy isn't real cool but we tried the first recipe in her smoothie book.
½ cup of milk
1 cup of yogurt (I like the mountain high yogurt, vanilla)
1 peach
½ cup of raspberries.
Do to the cold north I had to get frozen berries and fruit.
So both of us give it a simile face.

Statement...I found this combo of fruit surprisingly tastfull and would like to try to make jam out of this combo.
Plus I would like to use this fruit combo doing other things.

I been saving ten dollar a week toward a food dehydrator. But I've had the opportunity to put away a little extra so I have up to $100 save for it

Head way been made in the smaller bedroom. Went though the closet and it was full of shoes. Match them up. The ones that was shot went into trash can. The ones didn't fit anyone is off to the thrift store.
Then Murphy was all happy because it free up some room out in the barn/shed. Fact time...we had box of shoes out in barn or maybe it was two.
I gathered the seed both flower, veggies, and herb and put them in a tin. They were just sort of sitting on top of dresser.
This room I would like to do three things with it. Put in a twin bed or futon. Then have it as a craft room/home office.
But I'm not sure if there is enough room to place a desk, file cabinets, sewing desk/ craft desk, book cases, dresser and anther table which I haven't figured out yet.
I know for sure I want a item that one could sleep on.
If anyone wondering why I'm doing this room up. I've been doing a little ceramic here and there. With the cut backs in all the program. I figure my hours will be cut.
I know with struggling economy ceramics aren't going to be real hot seller but I figure I could sell a few pieces here and there bring in a few extra dollars.
I'll be competing against foreign market.
If anyone was wanting to know what ceramic project I was working on was a valentine piece. Well it doesn't matter I broke it.
I've been cleaning greenware of two fountain glasses. Plus I did get some figurines clean and ready to fire.

Then anther project which was a lot simpler I went though the garden seeds anything 2007 or older I tossed. But them in an older saltine tin.
So hopefully Murphy and I can get chance to go though the seeds. Decided what to order and plant. Don't worry my fans “we won't agree on what to be planted”

Photo Hunt (Hand)

This week theme is hand  I still write something by hand. I have some older relatives in Michigan my dad siblings. I send them a hand written note my dad youngest brother is about 90 and his oldest sister is 100. It averages out they will get a hand written note about every 6 weeks. There a few others I send a note to but not as often.

My friend Quenelle had a ideal to write a female person in the military. So she contacting her nephew who at this time is in Afghanistan trying to line up someone who we can correspond with.

I get most of my note card from thrift store and other cards. Last time I got any note cards I paid 30 for about half dozen of them. I also get other types of cards have one every looked at price of cards.
I really like this little note card and I'm keeping it for my self on the front it says
No woman can be happy with less than seven to cook for”. On the inside of the card it has list of what to do on certain days of the week...Wash on Monday, Iron on Tuesday, Mend on Wednesday, Clean on Thursday, Bake on Friday, Market on Saturday, and on Sunday to church.
I can recall singing a song to this.
But personally I never new anyone who actual ran there home this way.
Every generation had it easier then the next. I can recall my mom having a wringer washing machine. I heard her mom washing machine had some type handle on it and one had to manually pump it.
But ever sense I was in grade school we had an automatic washing machine and still do.
One thing I notice that iron haven't change since I could recall. I did ironing for a chore and I start on my dad big red hanker-chief. But for some reason my mom liked to iron.
At this present day I have a iron and board but I don't have a cover for my board actual those things are costly.
Sewing isn't something I real don't care to doing. Actual I don't do a bad job but I find it stressful. Now for mending I would rather start form the beginning on a project when it come to sewing. My mom would sew to relax but her daughter didn't.
I know how to clean a house. I couldn't say our home wasn't always spotless but we never lived in squalor.
I heard people complain that they felt like a slave to their parents but I have to say every time I was doing chores my parents didn't sit on the ass and let me be there slave they where doing some other type of chores.
I don't do much baking anymore do to work this is one thing I miss doing. But bake goods does help put on pounds. I'm trying to learn and do things in a more healthier way.
I never new any who strictly market on Saturday. I know my parents pretty much went and got food once a month.
I recall that they had a bread man and milk deliver to the house and that service was stop. My mom and dad was upset. They where trying to figure out the cost of the gas to and get these things. I don't know what they came up.
We weren't a church going family. I'm so thankful that my parent never raised me into any certain faith and never showed in prejudice to any faith not even out side of main stream religions

Celebrating Diversity Honor Human Rights

I believe Idaho and Arizona was the last state to recognize any type of celebration for Martin Luther King Jr. But in Idaho they call it Human Rights Confession time...At first I had trouble with the tern “Human right day” but as time goes by I actual find it more fitting.
I been reflecting on how everyone had some type of trial in there life. I have to say actual my trials in my life hasn't been like some I read been told about or personal known
If I have I had to pick on trial of life seem to hit more then others is always to do with is “Money” This resent round of money woes is that Murphy isn't going to be able to draw unemployment. If I understand the law for the state of Idaho if employer total wages paid out doesn't met $20,000 in a certain amount of time then unemployment insurance isn't paid.
So right now we are living on my wages of a part time job of weekly pay check of 247.50 a week. Our things like utilities (phone-water-gas-electric) will run about $200 a month. We will be able to put some back out of that for a raining day.

The boundary county human right task force and friends of the arts put on a show honor human rights. They did brief presentation ofkootenai declare war  in 1974. But before that the kootenai tribe lived in terrible poverty
I recall living as a teenager in Otis Orchard Washington some of my relative stop in at my parents house. Telling us in a like way of making fun of the kootenai's. Can't recall the exact word they used but they sum it up as they where putting on three ring circus act.
Looking back the kootenai had every right to protest their life they where living.
I never looked at my family being extreme bigots but every family does have there members who doesn't always do the right thing
But what my relative said was prejudice remark even if it was out of stupidly.

Murphy and I went into town to take care of some errands on Saturday. We stop at one of the thrift stores south end of Bonners Ferry. We got a some cards which I will explain in moment.
Hubby found a new shirt. I got two new tops and a new nightie any way the ones I have a pretty slim.
Now for the note cards. My friend Quenelle asked me if I would be interested in writing to female person who was in the military and given her support. I said “sure”
She from a military back ground. Her dad did 20 years in the Navy and her father in law did 20 years in the army. She has a nephew who is now fulfilling a career in the army.
She is going to send her nephew a large envelope asking to find us a female that would like to correspond with us.
In this envelope is some stamps, note cards, and stamps. Plus the written letter which the lady soldier will get.
I'm writing to one and Quenelle will be writing to two.

Also during last week I did crazy thing. I went on two facebook. But before I got out I got North Idaho telephone book and looked up churches and wrote a list of them not caring what the doctrine is. Explanation time I didn't include the different branch of baptist, methodist, lutherans or etc
I went over to facebook pages and found each religion and found one female and one male to be my friend.
At first I just send a friend invite and really not sure how it worked.
Then I send this message something like this “I like to have friends with different back ground” well that didn't go over well “So many people are up tight heck actual they should take a chill pill” then I send this message with my friend invite
“I'm working on project trying to get people from different religious back ground for friends on facebook.  Then after that I want to see if I can get a friend from every state in the union. I enjoy people from different background which is one way to learn. You where picked at random....Peppy” this worked a lot better.

One can say I'm doing a brain work out
Keeping one brain cells in a health state is if one is right handed mainly trying doing a few simple task like brushing your teeth, hair, washing a few dishes, dusting, washing your body all using your left hand and other simple task. If your left handed one can use their right hand.
One can also get those brain cell active by having a variety point of view on something that we may be interested in or not. Even if one don't agree with that point of view.
“We all need to stimulate our brain cells”

Photo Hunt (Shadow)

I believe we had this once before a theme for photo hunt  because the last one I took for this theme of shadow was a shadow of the kitchen in morning as the sun was shinning though the east window.
The last few days there been more overcast other then not. So not much in shadow line.
So I went in our bedroom and turn on the floor light and see if I could make a shadow of some type sense the sun wasn't going to do it.
I notice the corner had some shadow but no shape to it so I stuck the camera in mirror and took a picture and not knowing what was going to happen.
“the blanket is still up from last summer trying to block sun light from coming in”

Photo hunt (Your choice)

PHOTO HUNT
is letting us have a your choice. So I decide use “corner”when I'm at work I sometime don't get things really truly done here. Not saying my hubby doesn't do enough but there things that needs to be done.
So I wrote out list of things that needed to be done and one was to clean out the corner and other things. Before we went over to Heinz and Faith to play Pinochle Editor note..more below. Well Murphy and I lost both games.
I actual got my Friday goal done and we then went to play cards and I stayed up to late until a little after 11 and up at 7:30 in the morning
I was quite please what I got done on Friday but I stayed up to late went in and help Murphette on my dime and I thought I could do my Saturday list but I'm beat. I did get the top of the coffee table clean off.

First year I thought of January thaw being eerie. Hubby went into town to have his teeth clean at the dentist which is nothing strange.
But earlier like Thursday the 6th which was Murphy sister Faith Birthday so he went and wish her happy birthday and she invited us to play cards on Friday.
But let get back to the dentist Murphy had his appointment around noon and when I had my teeth clean it was just under a hour.
Then even before Murphy went to the dentist I tried to call his Sister Faith and see if six was actual a good time for cards I thought it might interrupt there dinner but her hubby Heinz answered and I ask him to have her to call me back. But then I went down stairs to get on the computer as I was trying to connected it said we had no dial tone. Then I thought someone left the phone off the hook but no that wasn't the case.
The rain was coming down all day at study pace. I guess the wind was picking which tree it want to shake about but no real gust of wind.
But we live off of a loop road so usual there traffic of some type but nothing and the phone dead I figure someone hit the phone line.
The time crept by and no hubby.
Murphy walk though the door and first thing I said “Anything exciting happen in town” his answer was “We declare war on Canada”. I said no and begin the explain the strangeness of the day. So somethings just didn't happen
Right around four o clock Faith called and then I knew we had a phone. So I made a few calls then.

Helping Someone Dig There Own Grave.

I watch people dig there own grave at work. It may seem like a strange statement to make. As you know I do home care which is in so many ways a joke.
Murphette is one I'm watching her dig her own grave. The 17th of December they let her out of the hospital and want her to be on diabetic type of diet. Which she struggling with because of many ways and reasons.
She needs to have this operation on her liver what we where hoping for was to have in done when her daughters where down in Texas but at this point we knew it was sometime after the first of the year but we can't find out when it is.
So as we try to unriddle the mystery of when and where she continues to not eat proper. Plus who know what these new meditation is doing they make her sound drunk and I know she isn't drinking.
I also know if someone blood sugar count is high it could effect them as if they been drinking.
Opinion time...I think she needs more help or she needs to be in a place that could see she is eating right. I only get seven and half hours a week with her a week. So I call up someone to come out and reevaluate her situation sense because there been changes. But with cuts in medicaid getting anytime at this time is like pulling “chicken teeth”
Most or least half of my clients I feel like at time I'm helping them dig there own grave to some degree. I'm not only one who complain of this.
My friend Alice does the same thing I do. She is now helping a lady with dialysis and she diabetic. Get this she puts in a lot of hours with this person and it private pay. The lady in wheel chair because of her choices she made.
Before Alice leaves she sit up things for her to eat and her meds. Well someone who is diabetic doesn't need doughnuts. Well after Alice leaves the lady somehow gets doughnut to eat and doesn't take her meds and her sugar count is some where out in space.

So Sunday Hubby and I are going to Sandpoint. Now let me tell you about our adventure I can't recall the last time we were at the Gardenia Center
Some powerful wisdom words like trust, responsibility, and light.
There time in our life we just need to trust in holy spirit there just no if and or buts. The one who was doing it on trust was telling us about she was doing a seminar for some really big world leaders and they where going to pay her $10,000 for 4 hour seminar. She wanted to prepare and what everything went wrong. Had two hours a sleep and I believe that Ah Ha guide her though it
Statement time...When someone blames others. In the short of it we are all responsible for our own well being we are giving free will.
Then the light we choose to shine with in us it up to each individual.

I been looking in go to more Raw foodism
but there question or a practical plan I need to make out that is practical for our family. What we can deal with
I know smoothies and juicing is something that can be handle
I know there more to raw then slop some stuff in blender or a juicier.
With work and have work with in budget is trying to figure out a path that will work for our family.
Well if I put away $10 a week in 6 month I will have enough money to get .excalibur dehydrator.
Then there other supplies I need but I'm pretty good at figuring out how to substitute.
Confession time...I drink to much coffee and I don't drink enough water. Then also I don't get enough exercise.
I know if I increase my activity level and increase my water intake I would be doing better
This week cut off for caffeine has been 12:30 in the afternoon. Confession time...I had trouble going from 1:00 in the afternoon to 12:30.
But I know by my numbers I need to get better numbers or my life is going to be shorter. But the main thing is “I want to do things” other then just work then a part time job.

Photo Hunt (Fuzzy)

Daisy
First Photo hunt for 2011. To see or learn more about the hunt please visit the The Hunt
When I saw this week photo theme what actual came to my mind was the
Fuzzy Wuzzy Soaps
but Daisy got a Fuzzy Wuzzy Bear for Christmas that she has us toss though the house or she takes out the fuzzies.
In week or so the fuzzies are gone and so is the bear.

I never had fuzzy wuzzy soaps but I recall there jingle for there ad

I been trying to eat more raw food and decrease my grease meat intake. No I'm not becoming loop side when it comes to eating.
But I can see the benefit of eating raw which doesn't mean walking around the place with a carrot stick in ones mouth and saying “Whats up Doc”
The other day which was last Wednesday there was blizzard out side. Wind was blowing at 20 miles and hour with some wind gust over 40 miles an hour straight out of the North.
Hubby would get the drive way blow-ed out and it would drift back in. So there a spot over by the Churches or old Peterson place it seem to get drifted in and I lost the road and got stuck there like a lot of other people.
So I believe sometime after 3 in the afternoon or so the grader came by.

So we had a ham bone and we made a pot of bean soup. Wanted to put in a clove a garlic and some leeks put no how I was going to town.
So soaked up some beans (Navy)
chopped up an yellow onion and some celery. Statement time...I was in Safeway the following day to get some celery it was around $1.50 a pound.
Add container of chicken broth.
Place every thing above into crock pot if needed add more water. Most ham bone are flavorful.
For seasoning I use Rosemary and garlic pepper.

Now what I did for the raw. Couple nights we had boiled up some yams. If your in your health one should actual steam the. “Boiling the hell out of something takes out some nutrition” so steaming it would be lot wiser.
Soak one cup of raw sunflower seeds over night.
Next day drain.
Place soak sunflower in food processor with s blade
place about 2/3 cup of soft yam peeled
place some tahini I would guess I use 1 tablespoon
2 tablespoon of honey.
1 teaspoon of ginger and clove
½ or even little less sea salt.

I believe that maple syrup would be good in this recipe but please check the back of your maple syrup and see if it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup. I notice high percentage of maple syrup that one buys from your local store number one ingredient is fructose corn syrup and artificial flavor.
Pure Maple Syrup should be just maple syrup.
I also wouldn't have any trouble trying it with molasses.
NORTH IDAHO BLIZZARD SPREAD that what I'll call my recipe.

Today Is Thursday, March 28, 2024: This Is What Happened.

I have been putting together my bullet journal for the second quarter. I’m so thankful for the white-out. I almost made a calendar for the ...
