Tooting One Horn

I don’t mean to toot my horn. Honest time…I real mean to toot my horn Pea of Pea Corner hosted a wonderful Halloween Swap and my package I sent went to Bob and Teri in Missouri Ok I bet some of you are wonder what does this lady have to toot her horn about.
I actual painted the scarecrow

I’m one like a deal Friday and Saturday I went yard selling and to one of the thrift store and got a few bargains here and there.

I found this food dehydrator at the local thrift store and it wasn’t marked and I said how much and the lady said $4.99 and I said it’s a deal. It look like it never real been used, except there is no instruction with it.
I believe you can pick a new one up at Wal-Mart for under $30.00

I went a yard sale south end of Bonners Ferry which had quite a bit of stuff and they had this little green cleaning machine which I been wanting a steam cleaner for my carpets.
But this one for smaller areas and furniture.
Well they never used it and still had all the paper work for a warranty. I ask how much they said does $20.00 sound fair and walk around a picked up quite a few more items. A couple of Christmas Presents, some movies on vhs, and cook ware.
So ask them if $30 sound fair and they took it. I paid a dollar an item except for the cleaner.

As I mention in my pass blog and that I collect giraffes and I pick this up at the thrift store plus that also where I got my food dehydrator.
At the yard sale I went to earlier I found an Robert Louis Stevens book called ”Children Garden Verse” which sometime at a later date I’ll share some of my favors of his work.

Our Kitchen Faust been leaking so we had to replace it and went in home depot to find a new one. They sure have a large assortment and one would have hard time choosing.
I actual want the one that looked like a beer tap

As of tomorrow Monday the 28th I’ll be involved with Fall y’ all give away I won’t be adding anything new to my regular blog until after the give away is done.
I’m also doing for the month of November Nablopmo and I bet if you go there main sight and put in the name of “Peppylady” I would pop up.
If you post everyday in November you have a chance to win something. So as the Fall give away is going on I’ll be posting over at nablopomo for a few days

October Reading II

I keep meaning to anther reading first part of the month I said I was going to use 4 source in my reading and only used one so I’m behind a bit

At random I picked 4 places in the bible

Psalm 38 I believe we all wonder why are life comes out the way it does. Not saying it right or wrong. But there a devil in play or bad spirits.
But all in all we should keep are life balance.

Ezekical 24 It sometime hard to bury the hatch it when someone does you wrong. But some where in life many question I have asked “Some time the others won’t let you bury the ax”

John 8
This is one of my favor verse in bible and we at time even me Confession time…Even at times I told half truth not wanting to let others see that I got weaknesses Are faults might not be the same as someone else but we have are short coming. Not one sin is better then anther.

Act 5 We may be underhand in some way even a smudge but god/dess always knows what is in our heart. Confession time…Some time I have to chase out those mean nasty things I know I should forgive or love
If you know someone is doing wrong and you let them go. Your not doing either one a favor actual you selling your self short

Head or Tails (Train)

I grew up in a railroad family. For three generation on my dad side worked the trains.
My great granddad Duane, then his son Clarence, and my dad Harold (Pete) Both my Grand Dad and Dad collect pensions from the railroads.
As I don’t know much about Great Grand Dad and Gramps (That what I called my dad-dads) But I know how my dad got started working for the roads.
My dad was going to school in Michigan and finished the 8th grade and I would guess it was the year of about 1919 and just started his freshman year in high school. I’m clueless why what promoted him to do such a stunt that he drop out of high school and went and got a job on the railroad. But of course his parents didn't know that he drop out of school til they saw him working on trains.
They gave him a choice if you’re going to live at home your going to have to go to school or live somewhere else.
So he picked the life of the trains.
I’m not such how many trains or railroad company he worked for.
I know he worked for over 50 years with trains and worked in most of the lower 48 states and a few of the Canadian providences.
But when he met my mom he was working on the Spokane International Railroad and then the Union Pacific bought the S.I out or they merged.
But I recall him bringing home fright off the trains and I recall once him bring Pussy Willows home.
When I was young he took me on the tour of the railroad yard in Spokane and I got to get a personal tour on how train system was ran. I even got to set up in the engineer ( In train talk the engineer is called the hog head) and blow the train whistle.
So my dad and my mom were very hard workers. To this day I don’t know how my mom did it she took care of the family.
Trains run 24/7 365 days a year. So I recall my mom getting my dad ready for work at all hours day and night. Took care of his dad and me. Plus ran a berry farm.
Yes my dad was a member of the union as a teamster.
After 50 year and some great stories of life on the trains he retired from the union pacific

No Good ,Rotten Day

The other day both one of my son had to deal with a jerk and the other had to deal with an asshole”

My son Bart was Elk hunting and this one guy about in his mid 30 complaint about my son Elk hunting in my Uncle and Aunt hay field.
As I get farther along in the story this Jerk got caught getting game illegal and I would guess he have of lost his hunting privilege.
So one day Bart and his friend Tom went somewhere and this jerk son came up and hit Bart before he could take off his set belt and hit him.
Then the Jerk him self told Bart “That the wrong one killed him self” He was talking about his cousin Nate or Murphy and I Nephew.
Well I suggest file a report with the sheriff office and I would help him. Simple because I wasn’t there to know all the details what went on?
But he decided not to and if this jerk or his son doesn’t get you can’t act like this. What will happen there jail time will keep on increasing.
I’m strong believer in Karma.
Then he decided to go hunting somewhere else with his friend Tom and someone was hunting above them and fired by them at some game.
Oh I believe it was an accident nothing more

Now for Sawyer he moved to Grant Pass Oregon place call Grey Backs which is private land management which does fire prevention on private land and sometime they contract out with the government.
Well before Sawyer a few “Red Flags” went up this place but sometime your kids have to attend the school of hard knocks.
Well the promised him a bunch of things and did actual anther thing.
Well it was Friday the 19th of October and I guess they promised him a raise and didn’t deliver on it.
So he told them “I quite” then they ask “Why do you quite” his reply was “ I can list 20 reason why” and he then start to list them
“Number one, you’re a bunch of Assholes”
“ Number two, you lied to me to many damm times”
Then they told him to leave. So his last paycheck is coming in Friday and he wants to pick it up and see if it right and doesn’t balance.
Then move back up to Naples. Not sure what he going to do but he can get back on at Schweitzer
Not sure exactly Sawyer plans are but last time I talked to him he was planning to go back to school.
He talks quite a bit to Bart.
You see this place Grey Backs never gave them breaks and there lunch was about 10 minutes.
So I figure Sawyer will be back here between Sunday and Monday.

No sure where he going to sleep he got choice of the basement or Bart old room.
Bart old room I was planning to turn in to a home office and craft room. Now I’m waiting to see what Sawyer doing

What Your Halloween Habits Say About You

You're a friendly person, but not the life of the party. You like making someone else's day - and you'll dress up if you think of a really fun costume.

No one quite understands you, but everyone also sort of worships you. And that's exactly how you like it.

Your inner child is bittersweet, thoughtful, and never too greedy.

Your fears are irrational and varied. It's hard to predict what you may be afraid of on any given day.

You're prone to be quite emotional and over dramatic. Deep down, you enjoy being scared out of your mind... even if you don't admit it.

You are unique, expressive, and a trendsetter. Your ideal Halloween costume is over the top and one of a kind.

Moil For Gold

Yesterday I was over at Dragon Flys Musing and I got this little fun Meme from her.
I actual need to look up some of these words they use in results of this meme. I’m not sure if they’re insulting me or not, scary huh!

You Are 7: The Enthusiast

You are outgoing and playful - always seeing the happy side to life.

You're enthusiastic and excitable. You love anything new.

Multi-talented, you do many things well... and find success easy.

You prefer to keep things light with others. Opening up is hard for you.

At Your Best: You are deeply involved in each experience. You appreciate life for what it is, and you take the time to enjoy each moment.

At Your Worst: You are greedy, self centered, impulsive, and insatiable.

Your Fixation: Gluttony

Your Primary Fear: Deprivation and pain

Your Primary Desire: To be satisfied and content

Other Number 7's: Howard Stern, Cameron Diaz, Robin Williams, Jim Carey, and Jenny Mccarthy.

When I was back in grade school don’t recall what grade I was in but this poem I have always liked.

Poem: The Cremation of Sam McGee
by Robert W. Service

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows.
Why he left his home in the South to roam ‘round the Pole, God only knows.
He was always cold, but the land of gold seemed to hold him like a spell;
Though he’d often say in his homely way that “he’d sooner live in hell.”

On a Christmas Day we were mushing our way over the Dawson trail.
Talk of your cold! through the parka’s fold it stabbed like a driven nail.
If our eyes we’d close, then the lashes froze till sometimes we couldn’t see;
It wasn’t much fun, but the only one to whimper was Sam McGee.

And that very night, as we lay packed tight in our robes beneath the snow,
And the dogs were fed, and the stars o’erhead were dancing heel and toe,
He turned to me, and “Cap,” says he, “I’ll cash in this trip, I guess;
And if I do, I’m asking that you won’t refuse my last request.”

Well, he seemed so low that I couldn’t say no; then he says with a sort of moan:
“It’s the cursed cold, and it’s got right hold till I’m chilled clean through to the bone.
Yet ‘taint being dead—it’s my awful dread of the icy grave that pains;
So I want you to swear that, foul or fair, you’ll cremate my last remains.”

A pal’s last need is a thing to heed, so I swore I would not fail;
And we started on at the streak of dawn; but God! he looked ghastly pale.
He crouched on the sleigh, and he raved all day of his home in Tennessee;
And before nightfall a corpse was all that was left of Sam McGee.

There wasn’t a breath in that land of death, and I hurried, horror-driven,
With a corpse half hid that I couldn’t get rid, because of a promise given;
It was lashed to the sleigh, and it seemed to say: “You may tax your brawn and brains,
But you promised true, and it’s up to you to cremate those last remains.”

Now a promise made is a debt unpaid, and the trail has its own stern code.
In the days to come, though my lips were dumb, in my heart how I cursed that load.
In the long, long night, by the lone firelight, while the huskies, round in a ring,
Howled out their woes to the homeless snows—O God! how I loathed the thing.

And every day that quiet clay seemed to heavy and heavier grow;
And on I went, though the dogs were spent and the grub was getting low;
The trail was bad, and I felt half mad, but I swore I would not give in;
And I’d often sing to the hateful thing, and it hearkened with a grin.

Till I came to the marge of Lake Lebarge, and a derelict there lay;
It was jammed in the ice, but I saw in a trice it was called the “Alice May.”

And I looked at it, and I thought a bit, and I looked at my frozen chum;
Then “Here,” said I, with a sudden cry, “is my cre-ma-tor-eum.”

Some planks I tore from the cabin floor, and I lit the boiler fire;
Some coal I found that was lying around, and I heaped the fuel higher;
The flames just soared and the furnace roared—such a blaze you seldom see;
Then I burrowed a hole in the glowing coal, and I stuffed in Sam McGee.

Then I made a hike, for I didn’t like to hear him sizzle so;
And the heavens scowled, and the huskies howled, and the wind began to blow.
It was icy cold, but the hot sweat rolled down my cheeks, and I don’t know why;
And the greasy smoke in an inky cloak went streaking down the sky.

I do not know how long in the snow I wrestled with grisly fear;
But the stars came out and they danced about ere again I ventured near;
I was sick with dread, but I bravely said: “I’ll just take a peep inside.
I guess he’s cooked, and it’s time I looked;” . . . then the door I opened wide.

And there sat Sam, looking cool and calm, in the heart of the furnace roar;
And he wore a smile you could see a mile, and he said: “Please close that door.
It’s fine in here, but I greatly fear you’ll let in the cold and storm—
Since I left Plumtree, down in Tennessee, it’s the first time I’ve been warm.”

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

Well when it comes to getting into new healthy habits I can’t say I complete fell off the wagon forsake but I been holding on with one hand and dragging behind and feeling every bump on the way.
This week I only got ¾ of mile in this morning my friend Alice and I went for a walk.
Even my water intake is been slacking also.

Relief

I’m not sure when or why I should post this but I fell that I needed to sometime in my blogger days.
I’m going to let you on few deep dark secrets of my life about my relationship with my dad.

As a little girl my dad and I got along quite well. I can’t recall the exact moment when we drew the line in the sand.
My dad would give me awful beating although not many of them. I recall hitting the walls and sliding across the floor.
And my mom just real didn’t do much. opinion time…I think the reason she never did any thing because she liked my dad income but maybe there other reasons that I just don’t see and at this time I have no desire to figure it out.
My dad sure wasn’t a health nut he drank like a fish a 5th of booze a day and smoke like chimney and my mom couldn't leave a very sick man and was worried what one may think of her. Some may ask if his drinking like that would make him become abusive or not actual he was a friendly drinker it was actual when he wasn’t drinking and was hung-over.
He had major health problems do to his health choices.
Sure the physical pain did damage to me but the real damage was the on going verbal abuse.
All the time he would criticize me over and over for the same ole thing. But if I did something right he would briefly give me praise and soon be back criticize me for any mistakes I have done in the pass.
He would run me down to other people and these people now I have a decent relationship with. I never once built my relationship of running down my dad to these people.
As a teenager I thought I had no self worth. So I did my share of drugs and was quite sexual active with quite a few males and ended up pregnant and ended up having an abortion because at that time the relationship with my dad it would give him something more to criticize me for.
I was so angry with my self as a teenager and had problem with the law and school. Oh never did any felonies it was for running away from my parents.
I ended up in years of counseling and went a live in a behavior school for trouble teens and that help me the most I was taught that we all have self worth.
My dad died when I was 17 and I recall going to his funeral and he was laying in his casket and I was thinking to my self I felt relieve that I wouldn’t have to be criticize for over and over for any mistakes did mater how big or small they may be.
Confession time…At time I would wonder but not often if he and I would get a long now

One of my job for my client is to take her yard selling on Friday and which just fits me fine.

In the resent I found these picture and hung them on the long wall in our living room and I have small shelf to put under the oblong picture.

On Friday two of the churches here was hosting rummage sale and I got a few nice items. There done by donations.

I found two items at yard sale to help me with my ceramic business one item is to mix paints and the other one is to cut tiles.
Confession time…Some time I feel frustrated that my ceramics aren’t happen as fast as I would like them..but a least I’m not going backward

One of our neighbors was having a big yard sale and I picked up two brand new bath sheets for $1.00 each.
And there was anther box of towels for $12.00 and at the time of sale I wasn’t sure how it would be price out.
Get to the chase someone beat me to it.
There was a few other items that I was looking at and hoping they would come down a bit and was planning to go back later on in the day.
But I go busy and never made it back.

It seem broken down Toyota pick-ups are quite popular among teenage boys in this area.
Let see over the weekend Bart help his friend Tom put in a new clutch.
And now they’re putting a new timing chain.
Tom at this point wants to light the piece of crap and push it over the cliff.
As most teenage they got some smart ass sticker on the rear window and tom is “Don’t laugh your daughter may be riding with me”
