A lot of my ancestors are buried in a church graveyard in Georgia, and ocne a year they do what is called Decoration Day where people go and clean up the graves and place fresh flowers. I think it is a wonderful way to remember those that we lovePattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05840399136320094652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9890790.post-61684027527231846272008-05-26T17:49:00.000-07:002008-05-26T17:49:00.000-07:00Thanks for playing along. I ...Happy Memorial Day to you and yours, dear Dora. I do hope you've been enjoying a wonderful long weekend. We don't celebrate it here in Canada, but we do have Remembrance Day in November. I think it's a lovely idea to visit graves on this day and honour the war veterans in our families. As you say, I think a lot of people only buy plastic flowers now to put on graves...it's very rare you'll see real flowers anymore. The last 2 years I've planted real flowers at the front of my dad and son's grave but when the caretaker mows the lawn, he tends to mow the flowers too!!! Grrrrr....lol

Enjoyed reading your answers to the meme...how awesome that you can still do the hula hoop, I haven't tried that in years! lol xoxCarole Buranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05497329055251626140noreply@blogger.com
