Could It Be Neither

Didn't get to do everything I need or want to do on YESTERDAY post. Mostly I want to stop by visit blogs.
Well two reason I want to listen to the democrat debate and once that was over a electric storm came though.
For Thursday post I had already sort of plan on post.

But before on my plan post Regis and I went to Sandpoint it was a quick trip for our errand he had his yearly physical and we went to library. Then came back to Bonners Ferry

As many you know I start keeping track of what I place in my mouth and I also want to know if I am getting healthy nutrition. Sure I can keep track of my calories and eat crap up to my calorie goal.
Fit day keeps count of the nutrition. From fats to your minerals and vitamins. At this time I want to post about the fats. I was wondering how much fat a person actual need and why. So I went and googled it
According to CLEVELAND HEALTH CLINIC one should have 20% to 35% of fats in calories. Or If your on 2,000 calorie diet. Then in break down to 44 to 77 grams a day. Ok here the break down for us American who don't do metric. 3.5 to 6.0 tablespoon.
The SATURATED FATS  are the lease we need.
Well according to fit day site. Which hasn't been quite a week.
My daily average calorie in take 2,078. But the fat calories is 852, or 46% of what I eat is fat, not necessary neither good or bad. But fat. Will get to the break down in second. 6.4 tablespoon or 91 grams.
Saturated fat 255 calories, or 12%. I believe saturated fat should be under 10%. 1.8 grams all most 2 tablespoon
Polyunsaturated fat 186 calories, or 9%. But for grams it would be 21 1.4 tablespoon.
Monounsaturated fat 315 calories or  15%. But for grams it would 35.7 2.3 tablespoon
There more then fat to a diet. And I will keep you all posted on my progress.
My bounds when come to eating has been stretch a bit. But this week non of them been total shattered.

Coffee is on

  1. 3.5 to 6 tablespoons of fat seems like a lot and I think we would notice it more if we had to eat it by the spoonful, but hidden in foods it's easy to eat too much of any fats. I think my biggest problem is sugar, I do like sweet things more than fatty. For a bad combination of sweet and fatty, pastry is the worst, especially sweet pastries like Danish and sweet pies, so I haven't had any pastry in almost a year, but still eating too much of all other foods.

  5. Fats can be tricky. I'm sure we all have too many of them in our diets at the moment.

  6. I don't count calories, etc. But I do try to have a balanced -- and varied -- diet. E.g., I make it a point to eat at least four different types of vegetables and/or fruit a day. Also, while I'm an omnivore (and do like the taste of meat), I try eat less of it than vegetables, fruit, etc. and end up having meatless days without planning to do so!

  10. Seems you are doing well. Stay your course. Stay away from diets that make you give up one food group. Not good. My daughter was in the ER 3 times for Keto and is now on medications for high blood pressure. Be careful. Slow and sure is the best way to do it.

  11. Diets aren't really diets; they are eating styles for the rest of your life - that's something I've learned. For me, Weight Watchers works. It doesn't for everyone, but someone has already done the calculations for you to eat the way you should be eating. I agree, stay away from fads. Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
