I live very close to British Columbia boarder. I live a little over 35 miles to CRESTON BRITISH COLUMBIA although I'm a little south of Bonners Ferry.
Not sure if anyone looked at link but the town of Creston population is under 6,000 people.
Little Community of Creston and many other have what is called COMMUNITY COMPLEX CENTER, some what like the Y.M.C.A. Closes Y to me would be Spokane and surrounding population of area is now properly a 500,000
Little town like Creston BC can have there community center. I know there going to agreement that Canadian pays more in taxes, it structured different. TAXES IN CANADA and there a SOCIALIST COUNTRY
I'm pretty impress with WHAT IS BEING OFFER.
Question time...Does your community have anything close to a YMCA or Community complex center.
Weigh in tomorrow morning. Not sure if I'll be down or up. But I will find out. Hopeful after dinner and we're having pizza and green salad.
It was raining earlier and hopeful I can get a walk in.
I'm trying to spend less time on computer and mostly social media. Not giving up my blog.
Been told if you write down what you eat one more aware of the food there consuming. So I'm strongly consider on my blog I would add my foods I ate.
Going and using fitday just takes to much time.
Coffee is on

Oh man, if I lived that close to Canada, I'd be going all the time. But no, we don't have much in the way of a community center, at least not that I know of. (My city has a population of almost 500,000. I could have missed it.)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a terrific deal. I live in a large metropolitan city with a number of YMCA's and loved be a member for years. Now that I'm retired, I work out at home or at the neighborhood rec center that has a pool. It's the benefits of dealing with pollution, noisy neighbors, and congested streets and highways. Thanks for swinging by the Ranch. We 💖 visitors and while our head of state disses your lovely country, we are big fans of Canada. 🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of such places but then compared to yours, our taxes are quite high, but not as high as in Europe. Ours might be similar to Canada's.
ReplyDeleteMine sure doesn't.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a YMCA in years. I live in a big city and there are community centres in most suburbs, mostly for older people to get together, or for people of different nationalities to get together. For instance there is a German Community Centre, a Polish one and an Italian one and so on.
ReplyDeleteWe have two youth centres that I know of. And once per month they offer a gaming-afternoon for retired people. All the rest does cost money.

ReplyDeleteThe UK has lots of 'drop-in' types of places, often attached to libraries or churches. The more rural the community, the more there IS a community as such. YAM xx
I live in Boise, Dora so we have these community centers everywhere and I'm quite happy to say they are always busy. - I miss living close to Canada. We used to go into Toronto. I really do love that country.
ReplyDeleteWe have several centers in and around Laurel, MD that offer services to all ages. Our Senior Center has fitness machines, a pool table, classes in ceramics, dance, yoga, piano, Spanish, etc etc. A low-cost lunch is available most days. Early voting takes place at the center during primaries and regular elections. One of the guys who helped us get this center is once again running for County Council. Sure hope he wins.
ReplyDeleteWe have a great community center in my town. I think that it's all about making the most out of what you have available.
ReplyDeleteWe do have a Community Centre quite close by that is well used by local groups.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
